Global Technology Architecture (GTA) is the JPMC technology architecture organization for the firm.  The group charter is to promote first class technology architecture and engineering capabilities across the JPMorgan organization, with consistency of approach to four architectural disciplines: business, application, information, and technical architecture, as well as implementing a firm-wide approach to the Chief Development Officer and Chief Information Officer roles. 
 
The GTA group develops and drives architecture solutions at the firm-wide level through the Global Technology Architecture Committee (GTAC) governance group.  The GTAC reviews and approves proposals on firm wide architectures and solutions, prioritizes and develops architecture recommendations that span multiple LOBs, and reviews LOB strategies and roadmaps to identify efficiencies and best practice opportunities. In addition, the GTA group also has functional responsibility for the Standards, Engineering & Architecture Library (SEAL) application, which is the central repository for the firm’s business applications, and commercial and open source products approved for use in the firm.
 

As an Information Architect, you will be one of the first members of the Firmwide Metadata Repository (MDR) team.   The MDR team leverage their data governance technical knowledge and industry experience to implement Metadata Management and Data Governance solutions for all lines of business at JP Morgan Chase.

The ideal candidate will have excellent (verbal and written) communication skills, the ability to communicate clearly as well as deliver customer presentations and facilitate data stewardship and data governance discussions to arrive at the best solution based upon the business, application and technologies drivers present in a given customer situation. The successful candidate will have the ability to work cooperatively with team members, partners and client and negotiate a solution that is acceptable to all parties.

      • BA or BS in Business or Computer Science
      • Strong business and/or technical analysis background
      • Minimum 3 years or more of hands-on experience in workflow and/or data workflow management systems.
      • Experience in consulting with senior-level executives
      • Knowledge of Collibra or Activiti BPMN technology
      • Benchmark design, development and execution
      • Client interface and consulting skills required
      • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, analytical and problem solving
      • Experience with one or more of the following: data scanners, data dictionaries, data warehouses, reporting or system extracts, metadata, business semantics, Big Data.
      • Solid understanding of current data governance topics
      • Knowledgeable and experienced in data issues such as data quality, reference data etc.
      • Practical knowledge of database systems (RDBMS)
      • Practical knowledge of Java
      • Practical knowledge of scripting (e.g., Unix shell, …)
      • Practical knowledge of API access (e.g., REST)
