US Equity Support Manager
A Production Support manager is needed in the Asset Management Application Service Delivery group to manage a group that provides support for Equity trading and portfolio management systems and applications. Support specialists work on a team dedicated to solving application performance, defect and stability issues while providing small enhancements and process improvements. Support specialists work in a cross-functional environment including development, networking, operating systems, database, application servers and web serving. Knowledge and understanding of each layer is a critical factor to success. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to fully use and apply standard technical troubleshooting principles, system analysis and testing while following standardized Release Management policies and procedures. Candidate must have the ability to work on projects and other assignments with minimal direct supervision. Relative experience and familiarity with financial instruments and portfolio management is highly desirable.
•Management of the US based Equity production support team that provides application support for Equity portfolio of applications within Asset Management
•Maintain operations, monitoring and integrity of production systems to meet established standards at the agreed SLA levels
•Participate in the Incident Management and Problem Management processes as a resolver accountable for root cause analysis, resolution and reporting. Hands on support may be required for this role
•Ensure that all production changes are processed according to Change Management policies and procedures
•Ensure that appropriate levels of Quality Assurance have been met for all new and existing products
•Ensure that products and changes are fully documented, passed through a formal Permit To Operate (PTO) process with the aim to increase quality of the releases and overall stability of the environment.
•Work closely with the Equity business management and Equity Development team to categorize, prioritize and resolve software application issues dealing with all levels of the Investment Management technology organization in support of our Equity groups.
•Interface with internal and external business and technical partners.
•Coordination and approval of production changes
•Proactively identify opportunities for change within the production environment
•Four to seven years of progressive experience in computing, development, architecture and/or client/server n-tier application experience required. The main responsibility is troubleshooting production issues, solving problems and implementation of production software
•Three years of financial industry support experience; Equity or portfolio management/trading support experience is highly desired
•At least two years as a Team Lead or equivalent management experience
•Good organizational skills, inclusive of issue tracking, metric reporting etc
•Demonstrate experience in effective decision making within a high-pressured environment
•Vendor management experience
•Experience with implementing Service Management best practices (ITIL, CMMi, CoBIT, Six Sigma).
•Knowledge and experience with middleware and ETL tools is a plus
•Strong background in systems project life cycle with emphasis on Unix/Linux, Wintel, Citrix, MS-SQL, Perl, performance tuning or similar experience is required
•Experience with data management, relational or object-oriented systems
•Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills
•Experience with successful implementation and support of highly scalable and highly available systems in an n-tier environment is highly desirable
•Ability to identify and clearly communicate problems/support requests in order to influence the prioritization of production defects and/or enhancements.
•Proven ability to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
•Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing, risk analysis, business resumption planning and contingency planning
•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
•Experience with Long View Trading System is desirable
