Senior Editor/Writer for J.P. Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank is a member of the global internal communications team, serving as the lead editor and writer for the division’s intranet content and weekly newsletter.  Working with communications colleagues who cover different businesses and functions, the editor/writer will have editorial oversight of intranet and newsletter content and be responsible for generating ideas and developing and maintaining an editorial calendar. In addition, this person will write content to highlight strategic initiatives, business successes, news and other material. Depending on experience and skill set, the individual may also be responsible for working with senior leaders on developing and executing communications plans, including writing executive messages.
Preferred candidates will have outstanding editing and writing skills, sound judgment, are strong team players and must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.  This position is based in New York and reports to the co-heads of global internal communications.
The Corporate & Investment Bank includes the following businesses and functions: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury Services, Institutional Sales & Trading, Investor Services, Finance & Business Management, Operations & Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Research and Human Resources. 
  • Oversight of weekly newsletter and intranet content for the division
  • Editing and quality control of various internal content
  • Writing articles, success stories, news and other material
  • Working closely with design, content management and new media teams
  • Writing and editing senior management messages for various channels (intranet, email, talking points, town halls, articles, etc.)
  • Develop innovative communications approaches to support executives and employee engagement goals
  • Repurposing internal content for use externally on, social media, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in journalism or internal communications
  • Outstanding editing and writing skills
  • Solid understanding of the institutional financial services industry (Investment Banking, Global Markets, Treasury Services, etc.)
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity; demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and accepts accountability and responsibility
  • Ability to effectively advise, partner and collaborate with executive management, team members and peers in order to execute on assignments
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high volume, high priority initiatives
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Additional software skills (eg. Photoshop, HTML) a plus
  • Experience working with a content management system preferred
  • Experience writing in a digital environment preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
