Job Description

Commerce Solutions, the global payment processing and merchant acquiring business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. We are seeking an Executive Director/CFO to lead the JP Morgan Commerce Solutions business in Europe.  This individual will report directly to the Global CFO of Commerce Solutions, and indirectly to the President/CEO of Commerce Solutions Europe.  As a member of the leadership team, the role will play an integral part in the development, execution and measurement of the overall business strategy.  This individual will be the owner and leader of the finance function of the business, which includes planning and analysis, pricing and financial control.


The following are specific responsibilities for this role:

  • Ensure timely, accurate and insightful reporting and analysis in support of business objectives.
  • Lead the planning and forecasting cycle.  Partner with business leaders to set financial targets which are aggressive, achievable and tied to long term goals -- continually monitor performance against goals.
  • Ensure viability and soundness of all business cases and investment analyses.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place and working for all financial functions.
  • Serve as a generalist on the leadership team, helping to drive strategy and solve tactical problems.
  • Develop merchant pricing strategies linked to the introduction of new products and markets.
  • Finance representative from business perspective on Cross LOB initiatives within JP Morgan. 
  • Liaise with controllers group on accounting and reporting requirements associated with global expansion initiatives to ensure accurate, secure and timely recording and reporting of business activities in compliance with financial control and compliance standards.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and other market facing activities as needed.


    • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA or Chartered Accountancy preferred
    • Merchant acquiring or payments industry experience preferred
    • Significant experience in related field with demonstrated people management responsibilities

    • Ability to successfully interact with senior level management and to partner at all levels across a large organization
    • Ability to lead, negotiate, implement best practices, set priorities, plan, facilitate collaboration, coach, direct activities and hold teams accountable
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask to provide accurate and timely deliverables
    • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Advanced Microsoft Access, Excel and Powerpoint

    Fitness & Probity:
    This role is a Pre-Approval controlled function (PCF1 (executive Director) and PCF11 (Head of Finance) as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on both the Central Bank and the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee’s fitness and probity.
