Release Manager - Vice President

Job Description

Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.


Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) is accountable for the firm's global storage and GTI server portfolio across plan and operate functions. The organization drives product management, engineering standards and productivity initiatives for global server and storage technologies across the firm. Our goal is to deliver measurable business value by providing core technology solutions that meet business demand with a high degree of cost efficiency.


As a Release Manager, you will align closely with the organizations goals by ensuring the highest level of quality in technology releases. Improve the product release process to ensure the smoothest transition from the engineering and architecture phases, through to operational support. Lead, participate in and champion, the PTx release governance process. Promote and maintain a culture of continual service improvement across the team and interfacing organizational elements. Manage all cross team dependencies and consider business priorities when scoping, planning, and certifying releases into the testing and production environments. Facilitate resolution and communication of cross-organization decisions, standards, and issues. Design and manage the Configuration Management process for releases between the development and production environments. Help plan and support the user acceptance testing phases to ensure an appropriate QA framework. Ensure all release documentation is properly updated. Promote effective teamwork and manage interpersonal issues. Contribute to continuous service improvement by leveraging ITIL standards and methodologies.

  • A thorough understanding of Release management and the value it adds to an organization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology, encompassing networking, storage, virtualization, hardware, server operating systems, applications and data centre technologies.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong peer/client/customer relationships underpinned by a service oriented approach to work.

  • Strong overview of Project management.

  • An understanding of ITIL concepts and the ability to engage with JPMC established incident, problem and change management processes and procedures.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • A willingness to work to a flexible work schedule with the possibility of international travel.

  • Ability to perform in a highly pressurized and changing work environment.

  • Degree level education or equivalent caliber

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong peer/client/customer relationships underpinned by a service oriented approach to work.
