The Cybersecurity organization’s objective is to ensure that JPMC is able to effectively detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats against our technology infrastructure.  The scope of Cybersecurity comprises detection and monitoring of threats and vulnerabilities, managing security incidents, and evolving our preventive infrastructure to keep ahead of the threat.  We accomplish this through strong information security leadership and active collaboration with line of business information risk managers to provide high quality security solutions and services that are focused on improving the Firm's risk posture.
 
The Cyber Assessment Red Team Operator (Network and System Administration Specialist) is qualified security specialist with experience building, configuring and securing network infrastructure, managing complex virtualized infrastructures and maintaining rapid, consistent support to technically demanding information security and penetration testing teams. This job is suited for aspiring information security enthusiast who have proven network and system security administration skills and would like to take those skills and knowledge to the next level. The job will provide an opportunity to integrate yourself into various red team operations at system and application level. 
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Monitor critical operational infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime
  • Apply updates/patches to globally distributed network infrastructure
  • Provision and monitor virtual machines
  • Assuring adherence to firmwide risk, legal and regulatory controls
  • Assuring adherence to firmwide data resiliency policy
  • Procure hardware and software licenses on as needed basis
  • Forecast hardware and software needs well in advance to secure appropriate budgets and funding
  • Resolve and troubleshoot reported and unreported infrastructure problems in an efficient manner
  • Escalate problems to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors to resolve problems (when needed), and follow through to ensure problems are resolved efficiently to support time critical operations 
  • Document network design and implementation solutions
Required Qualifications: 
  • Prior experience working in an IT Support role or network security administration/security engineering role
  • Overall 3+ years of Information Security experience with one of the following:
    • At least 2 years of experience performing network administration
    • At least 2 years of experience performing virtualization and virtualization management
    • At least 2 years of experience with software life cycle management, updates/ patches management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience and industry technical certifications (VCP, CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, etc.)
  • Demonstrated level of competency and thorough understanding of Internet technologies including:
    • VMWare ESXi
    • Principles of networking, Cisco, Juniper
    • Windows server operating systems
    • Demonstrated knowledge of hardware/computer architecture
    • Experience hardening and defending network infrastructure
    • Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX commands
    • Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Proxies and DLP amongst others
    • Data storage technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure in time critical situations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial sector, or other large organization, security and IT infrastructures  
  • Experience configuring and deploying distributed global networks preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
