Corporate - CIO Treasury  - Controller - Snr Associate


Treasury and Chief Investment Office (T/CIO) is responsible for delivering on the firm’s strategic priorities across both structural interest rate risk and liquidity management. Treasury manages the firm’s capital, balance sheet, liquidity and funding positions while CIO manages the firm’s structural interest rate and foreign exchange risks and conservatively invests the firm’s excess deposits.
The opportunity is to join EMEA T/CIO Planning and Analysis team with main responsibilities around Treasury related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Production of regular ongoing forecasts and explanation of the variance with prior forecast and actuals.
  • Production of Budget, MYF, CCAR, ICAAP forecasting exercises and related explanations and commentary.
  • Preparation of month end financial reporting, forecasting and variance explanations
  • Assistance in creation of monthly business review and other presentations for management
  • Assistance in Treasury Analytics daily, weekly, monthly balance sheet reporting
  • Assistance in enhancing the analytics capability of the function
  • Work with technology resources of the T/CIO to advance efforts to automate existing processes
  • Collaboration with finance resources of the T/CIO in North America and Asia   
  • Responsibility for a variety of reconciliation and control processes
  • Support in ad-hoc projects


Knowledge, skills and experience required:
  • A working knowledge of various financial products such as fixed income, money market, derivative financial instruments, their  related concepts, their accounting treatment and impact on Income Statement and Balance sheet
  • Excellent analytical skills and very high attention to detail
  • Highly numerate with a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent excel skills preferably with some VBA knowledge
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Recognition of the business’ and team’s requirements and the willingness to step outside your ‘day to day’ responsibilities at times
  • A self-starter and a team player who thrives in a dynamic working environment
  • Strong time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills due to tight reporting deadlines
  • Educated to degree level. Ideally having studied finance/accounting/mathematics or other numerate discipline
  • Accounting or another financial qualification will be an added advantage (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CFA or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in a similar or comparable role
  • Prior planning and analysis experience will be considered a plus.
