The Credit Risk Director will be responsible for the governance of Booking and Funding Risk Management across all function in Auto Finance. The candidate will play a critically important leadership role in the management and development of requirements and procedures for the oversight and governance of Booking and Funding. The candidate will work across business areas such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, Fair Lending and IT to offer strategic direction on credit risk.  The role needs to bring a good balance between business acumen and strong analytical skills to manage portfolio risk dynamics. 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with business heads and senior management on strategic initiatives aimed at overall growth and profitability of the business.
  • Partner with Risk Control Officer to identify issues and develop action plans as needed.
  • Identify key risk drivers and practices to provide Risk oversight in enhancing Booking and Funding functions such as:  End to End Process Management; Accuracy of data; Verification Procedures; and Exception Monitoring.
  • Analytically segment portfolio including loans and leases such as operational effectiveness of requirements such as tolerances and stipulations.
  • Develop analytics and champion/challenger capabilities on Manual strategies to develop and maintain requirements and support automation as identified.
  • Engage credit risk executives and their staff to administer requirements and stay abreast of dealer behavior.
  • Work with IT and Legal/Compliance partners to ensure that requirement, or procedure changes get implemented in a smooth and timely fashion.
  • Represent Credit Risk on all required workstreams.

  • 8+ Years of experience in retail credit risk management. Indirect Auto Finance or Operations experience would be a plus
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and finding creative ways to enhance analytic capabilities while having a broad view of the business needs
  • Strong decision making, sound judgment, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize goals to meet business objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage projects independent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in credit risk analysis in consumer credit or related field
  • Strong knowledge of statistics, e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision tree, etc.
