Commercial Banking - Business Operations Analyst II - Wholesale Lending Services

Job Description

JP Morgan Chase & Co. Commercial Bank serves more than 30,000 clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. The  Firm's broad platform positions the Commercial Bank to deliver extensive product capabilities - lending, treasury services,  investment banking, and asset management - to meet our clients' domestic and international financial needs.
This position is responsible for operational readiness for complex projects or projects that are cross functional.  The role will organize, direct, manage, coordinate and execute key activities of the assigned projects in order to ensure operations staff is appropriately ready to manage/operate changes with high quality and sound controls.  This position will also have responsibility for executive communication.
  • Directs activities, monitors details, sets priorities and provides status updates
  • Ability to understand project metrics, critical path, deliverables, processes, identify/ negotiate resource needs, ensures business counterpart readiness activities are complete
  • Complete current state analysis and help define the target state (e.g., situation analysis and process re-engineering)
  • Manages issues which impact cross-release or cross-project
  • Escalation Management - Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in knowing when/what to escalate and to whom 
  • Resolves issues through mediation/escalation, Issue identification & prioritization, proactively anticipates & remediates risk
  • Ability to facilitate sessions and deliver to large audiences that may include senior leaders as stakeholders
  • Reviews root cause analysis and implements best practices
  • Ensures preparedness of initiatives for pre-launch certification with governance committees
  • Facilitate post implementation reviews for quality assurance of readiness plans and activities
  • Produce executive communication
  • 5+ years in Business Banking, Credit Origination, Business Analysis, or Related Project Management experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with strong attention to details. Ability to listen effectively and credibly present ideas
  • Ability to create concise communication materials and present findings to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal leadership, partnership and influencing skills with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels  
  • Strong project management skills with solid time management, organizational, planning and follow up skills
  • Sound business acumen, good understanding of operations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to effectively facilitate problem resolution
  • Outstanding organizational and business skills and the ability to deal successfully with complex issues, multiple projects and short deadlines
  • Business processes and procedures awareness
  • Flexible, with ability to work under minimum direction and use independent judgment in decision-making
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint tools
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
