The Digital Line of Business supports public Internet sites for all lines of business within J. P. Morgan Chase.

Given that goal, an architect's primary job is to support project delivery as a senior technical resource working to define the project approach in concert with the leads in each functional area [development, customer experience, quality assurance, operations, and technical operations].
The open position is for a Release Management Engineer on DevOps team for the Digital line of business. The candidate will specifically work to manage application builds and deployments. Given the wide range of applications supported by Digital,
the candidate will be responsible for Atlassian tools administration, and writing scripts for notifications and automation utilizing standardized software development processes.
Development within DIGITAL takes place in Columbus, Chicago, New York, SFO, Seattle and India on a 24x7 cycle. As such,
the candidate will be providing 24 hour daily technical support to all development teams.
The engineering position is on the DevOps team for the Consumer Internet Group (CIG). The candidate will specifically work to manage and execute software release builds and deployments for both Java and .NET applications running on WebSphere, Weblogic App Servers and IIS Web Servers. Given the wide range of applications supported by CIG, the candidate will also be expected to execute database updates to DB2, Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases. These deployments will span Development, Certification, QA, Performance and Production environments. Development in the CIG takes place in Columbus, Wilmington, Chicago, New York, West Cost and India during all hours of the day. As such the candidate will be providing 24 hour daily technical support to all development teams. The candidate is expected to work closely with the development teams who manage UI, middleware, and back-end code. The candidate is also expected provide some extent of GIT and Subversion support for all different code sets across the CIG. Experience in build automation using ANT, Maven, NANT, BuildForge, Hudson, Jenkins and Perl is a must. Applicant should have exposure to Clearcase and Subversion maintenance and administration, preferably in a distributed development environment. Candidate must have through understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM)
and release process and best practices. This position will report to a DevOps Lead, who will coordinate with various teams in Digital to execute on the delivery approach to meet multiple concurrent project delivery needs.
Development exposure to .NET and Java technologies. Exposure to Windows XP, AIX, and Solaris server environments.
Experience with Db2, Oracle and SQL databases preferred. Experience with Ant, Maven, nAnt, BuildForge and Perl for script automation.
Rational Clearcase management, Subversion adminstration and deployment skills, training, and experience. Knowledge base on Websphere, Weblogic Application Servers.
