The Position:

The Decision Sciences Sales Analytics Executive Director supporting Chase Consumer Banking and Wealth Management is responsible for supporting the LOB’s sales productivity and helping them achieve their business objectives through productive consumption of data, reports, insights and advanced analytics. This position will report to the Decision Science Managing Director for Chase Consumer Banking and Wealth Management.

 

Business outcomes

  • Actively drives increased Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) sales productivity, primarily through retail bankers, by using data, reporting, analysis, insight and transforming that insight into changes in field behaviors
    • Work to build and improve over time a robust, complete database on prospects, customer interactions, banker activities and behaviors and banker outcomes
    • Build tools to support the front-line, for example:
      • Sales pipeline (behavioral) reporting for the field that is tied to business outcomes and our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
      • Referral pipeline (behavioral) reporting for the field that is tied to CCB-overall outcomes and the CRM tool
      • Competitive insights dashboard
    • Building Actionable executive dashboards and reporting on banker behaviors and outcomes
    • Running experiments in the Field to:
  • Understand productivity for each field role
  • Continuously optimize both Sales leads and Sales lead prioritization logic
    • Partnering with Branch Capacity Planning team to update staffing models and with Finance to establish accurate staffing plans
    • Identifying, buying, testing and deploying new data types that can drive insight for Sales
    • Partner with marketing teams to provide recommended activities to field
    • Continuously transitioning repeatable analyses into automated reporting and improving data visualizations
    • Identifying ways to use data and analytics to streamline and improve consistency of front-line hiring (aka “People analytics”)
  • Organizes their team to ensure each senior executive leader has appropriate level of dedicated support for deep dive analyses
  • Works with stakeholders above to prioritize the book of work
  • Oversees the translation of the Consumer Bank / Chase Wealth Management Sales Analytics priorities and Business Applications into the CB/CWM Data Roadmap

  • Actively questions and proposes ways to enhance processes across the business through Data & Analytics (including operational processes)
  • Impact-oriented – “owns” delivery of impact for the business - not just delivery of insight - and actively influences peers to achieve it
  • Builds a broad and deep network of peers within the business and outside of analytics
  • Ability to communicate complicated ideas simply – to a variety of audience types, including senior executives, as well as Field leadership
  • Critical thinker who can evaluate and improve skill level of a team

Innovation / One Chase

  • Maintains regular cadence with peers in retail banking to identify opportunity for synergies between stakeholders, as well as peers in other LOB Decision Sciences teams to share best practices
  • Continues to learn and champion new and innovative technologies to their team

People Leadership

  • Proven Manager, capable of building and overseeing a team of 15+ FTE
  • Dedicated coach and mentor who continually upgrades their team’s skills and promotes mobility within their team and across CCB
Risk / Controls
  • Actively supports CCB-wide initiatives to reduce Data & Analytics risk (e.g., model governance, SAS uplift)
    • Partnering with Branch Capacity Planning team to update staffing models and with Finance to establish accurate staffing plans
    • Identifying, buying, testing and deploying new data types that can drive insight for Sales
    • Partner with marketing teams to provide recommended activities to field
    • Continuously transitioning repeatable analyses into automated reporting and improving data visualizations
    • Identifying ways to use data and analytics to streamline and improve consistency of front-line hiring (aka “People analytics”)

Qualifications:

  • MBA, or MS in STEM field with significant Executive experience
  • 10+ years experience in Management Consulting and/or as a Marketing / Finance / Data & Analytics Executive
  • Experience in Financial Services, and specifically in retail banking preferred
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, ClickFox) and proven ability to deliver innovation
  • Process- and controls-oriented leader, maintains a strong system of internal governance and controls
  • Superb leadership skills at managing teams; outstanding and engaging people leader who has demonstrated the ability to lead, coach and develop employees within a large organization 
  • Proven ability to drive revenue and business outcomes
  • Excellent ability to influence and partner across a large organization and drive change; low ego
  • Strong presence and speaking skills, with the ability to influence and motivate senior executives
  • Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong business control understanding and experience
  • Experience with a Fortune 500 company and highly recognized customer centric brand strongly preferred
  • Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
