The Electronic Communications Accessibility Team (eCAT) is leading the bank towards a competitive digital experience for ALL of our customers by first achieving standards and regulatory conformance and then adding innovative, accessible features & services.
Job Description:
JPMorgan Chase seeks an energetic, motivated, and resourceful individual to join eCAT. The desired candidate is someone who is not only sensitive to the electronic communications access needs people with disabilities have, but also will be an individual who will collaborate with the team in ways not yet imagined. As the Digital Accessibility Co-op, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting eCAT in identifying potential barriers to accessibility and suggesting potential solutions which will be in conformance with accessibility guidelines and laws including but not limited to W3C WCAG 2.0 standards, compliance with the ADA, Section 508, and the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act.
  • Assisting eCAT in applying accessibility knowledge to the firm’s digital properties including but not limited to web applications, mobile applications, and electronic documents.
  • Supporting eCAT in managing and maintaining the Digital Accessibility Knowledge Base repository.
  • Assisting in the establishment and implementation of effective accessibility training materials.
  • Reviewing, writing and presenting procedure documents according to standard templates.
  • Facilitating and tracking procedure reviews and updates.
  • Defining and meeting key deliverables for assignments and providing updates to management.
  • Completing assignments in a high quality and timely fashion.
  • Attend training classes and soak up as much knowledge as possible.
  • Help moderate poll questions and chat posts during trainings.
  • Create new wiki pages for ACP (schedule/decks/recordings, roster/attendance, etc.).
  • Manage and post class recordings to class wiki.
  • Proofread, manage and post accessible slide decks to class wiki.
  • Track and document attendance records of ACP participants on wiki.
  • Grade and document results of knowledge assessments.
  • Compile and share assignment updates (outstanding assignments, graded homeworks, graded quizzes/answers).
  • Build new course surveys and assessments using data provided by supervisor.
  • Take ownership of ensuring participants have necessary SharePoint permissions.
  • Manage calendar invite creation, training room reservations, etc.
  • Create and distribute certificates of achievement.
  • Research and test new platforms for delivering surveys and assessments.
  • Identify new opportunities to support and contribute to ACP.
Recommended job qualifications and skills qualifications:
The individual should be a self-starter who demonstrates leadership, is a creative thinker with a proven ability to define and meet key deliverables. Someone who is an excellent communicator - both written and verbally, including the ability to explain solutions in common business language.  Strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and exceptional organizational skills are required. The individual should be comfortable with presenting to senior leaders across the firm and possess the ability to collaborate in a global matrix managed organization.  Strong problem solving and time management skills, ability to work under pressure, and the ability to work independently and in small groups is required.  A solid understanding and comfort level with Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Share Point is required.  Knowledge of, or experience with, the following is a plus:
  • Accessibility barriers resulting from visual impairment, hearing impairment, cognitive Impairment, mobility impairment, and / or a combination of multiple disabilities.
  • Accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0, ADA Section 508, 21st Century Video and Communications Act.
  • Windows and Mac OS, Mobile accessibility on Android and IOS.
  • Screen readers, screen magnifiers, switch controls.
  • HTML 4 and 5, CSS 2 and 3.
  • ALM, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Internet or mobile usability/accessibility research is a plus
This position is open to Pre-Juniors and Juniors with a minimum of at least one (1) previous co-op / internship.
