The SEC Reporting group is responsible for the administration and production of all SEC filings, including the Form 8-K and Earnings Release Financial Supplement, the Form 10-Q, and the Annual Report on the Form 10-K. The team also releases files to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (via Wdesk).


The Analysis and Report Writing team within the SEC Reporting prepares various analytics on JPMorgan Chase’s primary financial statements, with particular focus on the income statement and balance sheet. As an Associate in the team, the person will perform the following:

  • Assist in the writing of the Results of Operations, the section in Form 10-Q/K that describes the business drivers that contributed to the variances of each revenue and expense line.
  • Assist in the writing of the Balance Sheet Analysis, the section in Form 10-Q/K that describes the activities that contributed to the variances of each asset, liability and equity line.
  • Assist in the preparation of analytics to complement certain disclosures in the Earnings Supplement and the Form 10-Q/K; these documents are prepared for the Global Controller of JPMorgan Chase.
  • Develop and maintain schedules in BPC and MIS – the Firm’s primary reporting systems – that provide details and serve as the back up for the write-ups

The other activities that the team performs include assisting in the many other reporting assignments of the SEC team, as well as other groups in Finance, including:

  • Completing supplemental schedules based on calls by analysts and investors to Investor Relations requesting for more detailed information.
  • Building closer relationships with the LOB or business unit controller groups to gain access on information related to business activities, past and future, working with them to identify major business initiatives that will impact future numbers.
  • Continually re-looking at the current disclosures and develop alternative ways of presenting information in more usable, digestible and attractive format. (Creative abilities would be helpful, including familiarity with graphic design or graphic applications.)

  • Background in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Line-of-Business experience, a plus
  • Keen analytical skills and effective communication abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of software, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with BPC and MIS, as well as Wdesk
  • Comfortable in implementing change and trying new technology
  • Attention to detail and creative presentation abilities are essential
  • Flexibility in time arrangement as reporting assignments are deadline oriented
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
