CCB Risk
Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others
 
The Home Lending Risk Oversight & Strategy VP will be responsible for proactively identifying risks within the home lending servicing portfolio, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks and improve customer experience. This role will also be working with key internal business partners to ensure that such risk strategies will be executed effectively with the proper controls in place.
  
Key responsibilities include
 
  • Assess risks in Mortgage Servicing and develop insights to mitigate those risks.
  • Work closely with internal business partners to understand their issues, create strategies for change, and collaborate with other stakeholders to approve and implement such strategies
  • Working with the business, Risk Analytics, and Risk advisory peers to proactively identify risk and reward opportunities to improve the health of the portfolio.
  • Advising and influencing senior management on key decisions from the Risk Strategy perspective
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Controls and the Line of Business to ensure risk strategies accurately addresses requirements and business needs.
  • Display leadership through identification of key industry developments, news and innovation and sharing that information with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Consistently deliver value to the business and Chase through challenging the current-state operating environment and partnering with business and stakeholders to simplify processes and neutralize and/or reduce risk.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or strategy role.
  • 5+ years of risk management experience or risk consulting experience.
  • Have an analytical mind-set to solve complex issues. Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop strategic solutions.
  • Have a solid understanding of financial data and how to segment such data to drive strategies and insights.
  • Ability to synthesize deep quantitative and qualitative analysis into concise, executive-level communications. 
  • Capable of presenting recommendations to senior management and influencing multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable interfacing and partnering with analytics teams and other lines of business in order to assist in meeting risk objectives.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • The individual must be comfortable working in a matrixed environment.
 
Desired Skills
 
  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, or credit risk management experience in the consumer financial services industry.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage, home equity, and/or credit card products.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas.
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analytical tools.
  • An MBA or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, and/or other related fields preferred.
