Departmental Description
Managing fiduciary activities is an integral part of our business. As such, the firmwide Fiduciary and Conflicts of Interest Program established a disciplined and structured approach to managing fiduciary activities. The bankwide fiduciary management operating model allows the firm to leverage the fiduciary expertise of the entire organization. The Central Team will work closely with all LOBs and Control functions to ensure a robust control environment and consistent management of fiduciary activities. The Central Team will continue to drive a consistent and bankwide approach to fiduciary matters – a core principle that was established by the Firmwide Program.
Core Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Work with LOBs and Control Functions to produce monthly regulatory reporting of statuses of all Fiduciary and COI regulatory matters across the firm
  • Produce firmwide monthly Fiduciary and COI regulatory report of Audit and  Regulatory/Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) failures
    • Both reports are shared directly with the Regulators (OCC) and senior management forums (e.g. Firmwide Fiduciary Risk Governance(FFRGC) and Fiduciary Advisory Council (FAC))   
  • Oversee the execution of certain aspects of the Fiduciary Operating Model that were established as part of the firmwide Program. Responsibilities include but not limited to:  
    • Facilitating annual and ongoing updates of Fiduciary Inventory / Roles Map - work with all LOBs and Control Functions to complete the annual review and identification of Fiduciary Activities across the firm, which includes a monthly review of New Business Initiatives to identify potential new Fiduciary activities
    • Review of fiduciary issues in Phoenix to identify issues with cross LOB impact in order to share lessons learned and best practices at the FAC
    • Facilitate the annual fiduciary expertise acknowledgement process-  work with each LOB to memorialize that senior management considered the quantity and quality of fiduciary staff as part of the BAU planning process
    • Facilitate the annual 9.4 delegation process with each LOB - 9.4 delegation creates a consistent framework where Fiduciary heads are appointed by each business
  • Respond to inquiries and potential issues regarding Audit and OCC validation of program deliverables
  • Understand and manage the impact of other firmwide initiatives and existing programs to the Fiduciary Framework
    • Bachelor’s degree

    Desirable Skills/Experience
    • Vice President within the business, Operations, or controls organization
    • Working knowledge of a Fiduciary business and controls
    • Project /program management experience – ability to connect dots, multi-task, and execute
    • A key contributing member of a high performing organization
