The investment capabilities of GIM Solutions reside within Multi-Asset Solutions, which has portfolio managers, research analysts, and client portfolio managers based in the US, London, and Asia. The global Client Solutions & Advisory team within GIM Solutions includes Retirement Solutions, Institutional Solutions & Advisory, and ETF Solutions. These teams provide thought leadership, strategic advice, and analytics within their respective fields of expertise.


Job Description

Senior Analyst or junior Associate level finance role within the GIM Solutions product CFO team in GIM finance.


The finance professional is responsible for delivering value added financial reporting, planning/forecasting, and analysis.  The key objectives for this team are to deepen its analysis for the Solutions business, provide critical financial insights and analyses, drive key business priorities, and enhance controls and efficiencies. Specific 2016 team objectives that the finance professional will directly contribute towards include the enhancement of coverage for the ETF Solutions and Institutional Solutions & Advisory business units, improving expense reporting and controls, standardization of pricing and revising the internal revenue share rate card.  


The role consists of ownership of the execution of various projects listed below.  This person will get a broad exposure to the business drivers of JP Morgan Asset Management and GIM Solutions, and will also be expected to interact not just with the various finance functions (P&A, Profitability, product/client CFO teams), but also with peers and senior leaders within the Solutions business and other areas as necessary.


Key functions of the role (in addition to the above) include:

  • Oversight and preparation of key MIS deliverables to the business (monthly financial reporting), including analysis of financial results to understand key business drivers and ensure quality & integrity of reporting

  • Profitability Analysis – validation and oversight of expense allocations and revenue forecasting within the activity based cost model

  • Managing data Integrity of business pipeline and flows in partnership with client CFO teams

  • Expense management and forecasting, understanding key expense drivers, and assisting with enforcement of AM expense policy

  • Headcount tracking and forecasting

  • Preparing financial reporting or data sets for various stakeholders within Solutions business and support functions (CPMs, marketing, RFP team, etc) and presenting directly to the business and/or senior leaders (e.g. flows & pipeline update to global CPM team)

  • Additional ad hoc assignments to support finance and business agenda

  • Delivers results in a timely and accurate manner

  • Ability to innovate and multitask

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with willingness to take ownership, accountability and initiative

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting across geographies and mediums

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large and varied data sets

  • Analytical mindset, with ability to apply skepticism and judgment as appropriate

  • Proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, and Essbase (preferred)

  • Undergraduate degree is required

  • Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience
