Job Description

The Corporate & Investment Bank’s (CIB) Chief Administrative Office (CAO) represents the CIB’s Technology, Operations, Controls, Analytics and New Product Development.  Within the CAO there are various groups that support the operational, technical and control aspects of US Withholding Tax and Global Tax reporting.  The CIB NA Tax Operations Team supports the various CIB groups through Tax Form validation and implementation of new Tax Regulatory controls.  This team is looking for an Associate to support the daily work and future process planning for regulations such as FATCA, UK CDOT, and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).  
   
The Metrics and Control Lead will be responsible for creating and maintaining tax reference data and ensuring data quality standards are met in various systems.  Responsibilities will include metrics reporting, BAU process implementation and management of staff.   In addition, the role will support a large data remediation project satisfying requirements set forth by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service). 
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Own creation and monitoring metrics, provide trending analyses, make recommendations to mitigate issues and implement
  • Supervise and publish detailed metric reporting across the CIB NA Tax Ops space and circulate and present to senior management, producing bespoke reporting as needed
  • Identify control issues, solutions and ensure appropriate prioritization and escalation to Management
  • Provide specific, detailed weekly active feedback and updates to CIB NA Tax Ops Management Team on all BAU and control functions
  • Identify and investigate aged items on metric reporting, providing options available to manage and mitigate them and coordinate corrective action
  • Oversee processing and remediation efforts within the CIB NA Tax Ops space for a small account tax validation function
  • Management of staff, assessing work allocation and capacity to identify bottlenecks and introduce process efficiencies
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of staff performance, ensuring expected performance levels are met and managed as appropriate.  Hold staff meetings to build communication / engagement and enhance the effectiveness of staff performance
  • Actively participate in projects and meetings
  • Interact closely with global team members and product stakeholders
Qualifications
The candidate must be a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment.  Additional qualifications:
  • 3+ years business process and management experience
  • Bachelors degree required (business discipline preferred)
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel ,PowerPoint and Visio
  • Proactive, self-motivated and flexible
  • Ability to comprehend complex government regulations
  • Ability to understand banking controls from all government bodies
  • Experience with client on-boarding, reference data systems, data governance and data quality
  • Ability to successfully interact with technology and business stakeholders
  • Ability to lead on cross-functional team calls and interact with all levels of multiple organizations
  • Strong analytical background and  problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills; ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high-level standard
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Knowledge of US and non-US Tax Regulations a plus
  • Oskar Business Objects and SharePoint a plus
  • Additional hours are required based on business needs and overtime required as needed
