Senior data developers who are independent, inventive problem solvers willing to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow as software professionals.  Individuals with a strong computer science or related engineering background, who enjoy pair programming, recognize the value of end to end testing, and are willing to learn new technologies and languages. Most importantly, we look for individuals that have a passion for learning, continuous improvement, and team collaboration. 
 
Description
  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, operation and support of infrastructure services that meet stated business requirements and adhere to coding best practices and architecture standards
  • Demonstrates compliance to architectural design standards, risk management and security policies, data management policies, leading presentations in architecture review, strategic technology directions, best practice development (e.g., estimating models), mentoring less experienced team members, code reviews
  • Accountable for all elements of Software Development Lifecycle
  • Lead role in the development of integration elements, data models, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Build open 3rd-party Software Development Kits (SDKs)
  • Establishes standards, risk management and security guidelines and data management policies
  • Leader of organizational, operational and/or technological change
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Proven large team/function leader
  • Manages technical leaders to deliver practical solutions with business value
  • Directs large scale software product delivery and direct a team of technical professionals
  • Accountable for build vs. buy decisions owned by the team
  • Highly experienced in developing scalable distributed systems across multiple data centers.
  • Architect level SME in multiple technologies and design techniques
  • Highly experienced in developing highly scalable distributed systems across multiple data centers
  • Proficient in system and software security and entitlements (SSO, Windows, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD)
  • Ambassador of Infrastructure risk/security
  • Modern compute technologies (e.g., virtualization, cloud)
  • Proficient in large scale software development in one or more of the programming languages (Python, Scala, or Java)
  • Breadth of experience in Data Object Model Design and abstraction
  • Proven competence with Agile development process and automated testing
  • Oversees end-to-end systems automation and orchestration
  • Proficient in Systems and Application monitoring systems and instrumentation
  • Experience with building and maintaining Big Data and Fast Data applications using Open source software like Spark, Flume, and Kafka on Cassandra / Hadoop
  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • A passion for building software, and a long term career, as a software technologist
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with multiple teams, and both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A commercial view on how to deliver business value through technology delivery
