Application Level 3 Support Lead will be a motivated and talented individual working in the Appraisals Support team in Commercial Banking Technology. This role will be responsible for analyzing application issues raised by business end users, and will focus on process improvement, project delivery execution, training delivery and test automation. This position will work across various technology Application Development (AD) and support teams as well as interact with technology teams across LOBs to share and utilize knowledge and best practices.
Primary responsibilities in this role will be:
  • Function as Lead for Appraisals Level 3 Support team, potentially managing resources
  • Work with AD and other technology teams to establish, improve and measure application support and vendor SLAs involving modern development practices, such as Agile, Continuous Delivery and DevOps
  • Automate regression test suite in Selenium/Cucumber
  • Work as part of DevOps team on user stories especially to be able to influence and implement nonfunctional support requirements like performance testing, monitoring, alerting, resiliency, continuous integration and deployment
  • Provide coverage which will require shift/rotation and might include weekend work to cover primarily US hours of operation
  • Ownership of all issues that are raised to Appraisals Level 3 Support team, through to closure regardless of which team or Vendor ultimately resolves the issue. Raise JIRA/defect reports to AD/Vendor (where appropriate) for code amendment/fixes. Also be able to validate any reports issues/ad hoc requests to run business reports.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with Business, Application Development, other technology teams or end-user clients on a day to day basis
  • Participate in and manage Incident Management and Problem Management processes to resolve Production issues and root cause analysis, resolution, and reporting
  • Maintain a knowledge base of known defects, issues, process, techniques etc. Update and manage problem tickets appropriately
  • Perform Deployments, Post-release testing after application upgrades and/or releases. Perform desktop testing on disaster recovery environments
  • Learn and support vendor product configuration / scripting using basic programming skillset (vendor to provide appropriate training)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline strongly preferred
  • Business Analysis experience working in an Application Development project/program
  • Hands on experience with automating testing using Selenium/Cucumber using Java programming language
  • Strong knowledge and experience in DevOps and Agile teams
  • Knowledge of SQL, UNIX, Oracle, MS SQL DB, J2EE
  • Familiarity with Control M and AutoSys job scheduler
  • Knowledge and experience in Web based applications / architecture (Certificates, IIS, Web Services)
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux administration and Unix scripts. Should be knowledgeable about automating the build and deployment process. Knowledge in Python, Javascript is good.
  • Knowledge of GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, SONAR, SPLUNK, Maven, AIM and Continuous Delivery tools.
  • Knowledge of Cloud (private cloud, public cloud etc) working experience of cloud environments like AWS is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral appropriately scaled for technical or business audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player
  • Strong analysis, research, investigation and evaluation skills, with a structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment that includes a global focus
