The online and mobile channels for Chase currently support more than 32 million active customers; 9 million customers interact with us daily, making Chase the most visited banking portal in the US.   Within Consumer and Community Banking, the Digital IT team is responsible for setting and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation across Chase Online and Mobile, helping to establish the best Digital banking customer experience in the industry

The selected candidate is responsible for solution design for a project, platform enhancement, or application enhancement that transforms the architectural concepts and principles of Digital/CCB into a technical design for development teams to execute.   The design authority does not establish architectural principles and guidelines, but understands these and enforces them throughout the platform/services that are leveraged in the designs.   The design authority works closely with Architects, Application Architects, Data and Information Architecture, and Development resources to ensure that project requirements are met in a manner consistent with the Architectural roadmap of the platform/application/product being delivered/designed.
To ensure adherence to design principles, the design authority will produce technical solutions that are to be reviewed by associated stakeholders for consistency and roadmap adherence throughout the development cycle, but principally at project/deliverable initiation.  In cases where the project/initiative is not deemed to require new architectural principles/guidance, then both a high-level and detailed technical approach will be produced.  In cases where the design relies on architectural or significant platform or policy changes, then architecture team will develop the high-level design, to be closely followed by the design authority with a more-detailed technical approach.
The candidate must seek to build consensus between and support from architecture, development, product, Line of Business and other stakeholders to ensure that the design is understood and accepted in achievement of the requirements.   The candidate must understand and accept the architectural principles and guidelines, compliance and audit and risk constraints, and delivery, performance and platform requirements, to tie all of these together into an accepted and executable design.
As a Design Authority, you will be responsible for:

• Helping define and drive deliveries towards the strategic direction for the application/area
• Aligning with the long term strategic direction for Digital/CCB, providing a path to get there via incremental deliveries
• Active participation in an Agile development process, including working closely with development and product/project management
• Identifying and documenting the non functional requirements for the design
• Close engagement with architects and Lead Design Authorities across other areas of Digital/CCB and JPMC to collaborating to define consistent, extendible, and reusable approaches and solutions
• Understanding and promoting the overall data model for the suite of applications in the area, and for interfacing areas
• Managing technical risk for all technical decisions and any platform dependencies
• Technical responsibility for project delivery design
• Providing ongoing technical guidance and direction for the development teams
• Provide regular feedback to senior management and the key stakeholders
• Aligning with the security standards and guidelines to ensure systems are secure and protected against threats 
In fulfillment of these responsibilities, the candidate should have a thorough knowledge of the following:
  • Service-oriented architecture and middleware
  • Knowledge of data models, data typing, and data security and relationship database concepts
  • Understanding of framework concepts
  • Strong technical leadership and technical risk management
  • Relevant degree of work experience
  • Strong web service experience
  • Effective written and verbal communicator with excellent reasoning and presentation skills
  • Experience of testing at the unit, integration and system levels.
  • Experience with Web Application Server, such as WebSphere or similar
  • Experience with Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery
  • Familiarity with some form of Messaging technology, such as MQ or similar
  • Experience with some type of document or content management system
  • Strong sense of virtual teams and consensus building
Specific Technical and Business Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience in developing, deploying and supporting commercial and custom software solutions with an emphasis on identity and access management framework, integration, application migration and support
  • Able to direct and coach less experienced team members
  • Fluency in Common Industry User Directories (LDAP, Active Directory, etc.)
  • Possess deep domain expertise and experience working across a group of related products/applications
  • Experience in the follow IAM areas:
    • Identity and Access Management Architecture
    • Identity Lifecycle Management Processes
    • Federation/Single Sign-on (SAML, ADFS, Open Standards, SPML, SCIM, )
    • Social Authentication (OAUTH / Open ID Connect)
    • WebService Interfaces (REST / SOAP / JWS / WS-Sec)
    • CA SiteMinder
    • User Directory Administration experience and System Administration experience a plus
  • Proficient in High Level Systems Integration / migration design
  • Understanding of OSI layer and basic networking skills
  • Big IP
  • Strong understanding of J2EE server technologies: XML, JMS, JAX-WS, CXF
  • Strong experience with Spring
  • Experience with IDEs such as RAD/Eclipse
  • Experience building REST and SOAP web services using Java
  • Experience with MQ
  • Experience with SQL on one of the following databases (DB2, MySQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with scripting and working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with high volume, mission critical applications
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience building distributed systems at Internet scale
  • Experience working in a fast-paced financial services/digital focused delivery environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with tuning high volume applications
  • Thorough knowledge of SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle)
