Job Description

Overview:   

Senior Event Associate will create, plan and execute client and prospect event activities from concept, through execution and evaluation predominantly in the Southeast region of the U.S.  The job demands interaction with colleagues on the US regional and global events team, marketing, US market managers, bankers and product partners so that we can ensure a consistent and distinctive experience for clients which underscores our business strategies.  The team goal is to develop and execute events that increase client business/deepen existing client relationships, create and drive efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain J.P. Morgan brand standard in all events.  Highly pressured position demanding strong communication skills, accuracy, long hours and travel.    

   

The role reports to Executive Director/Regional Event Manager, Southeast Region for J.P. Morgan Private Bank  

   

Event planning responsibilities include:  

  • Understand business objectives and assist in developing an event strategy that supports business goals   
  • Embed the importance of clients’ relations in all aspects of events, ensure a “distinctively J.P. Morgan” experience for clients    
  • Drive operational efficiencies   
  • Maintain budgets and event calendar accordingly, strong emphasis on data management and data analysis (i.e. maintain lists and populate tracking reports following events).  
  • Liaise with other J.P. Morgan and Chase lines of business, in order to leverage and consolidate ideas, shared resources and cross sell event opportunities  
  • Participate in weekly regional team meetings, budget calls, and multiple banker meetings providing event strategy updates  
  • Must think strategically and problem solve, must have ability to offer creative solutions  
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines, responses must be prompt and clear  
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, especially in high-stress situations. Ability to liaise with senior leadership often, over the phone and in person.    
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and to be flexible and adaptable  
  • Sustain team when others are traveling (i.e. answer phones, respond to requests, answer questions, etc.)  
  • Administrative duties create invitations, processing invoices, making nametags, place cards, and menu cards   
  • Ability to be work late hours and travel   
  • Prior experience in financial services a plus  
  • A minimum of four-six years prior experience in event management related activities    
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organization and analytical skills working under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors
  • Exemplary oral and written communications skills
  • Confidence and a history of liaising with senior leadership
  • A minimum of 4-6 years prior experience in event management related activities 
  • Exemplary oral and written communications skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in financial services a plus
