Our firm relies on high-caliber people working together effectively. Human Resources works with managers in all business areas to design, implement and manage our firm's policies and programs pertaining to recruiting, training, development, staffing, career management, diversity, compensation, benefits and employee relations.
 
The global CIB Learning & Development team addresses talent management and development, performance management, diversity, change management, leadership and management training, professional and technical skills training.  The team may undertake research to assess and diagnose issues, and then design and implement solutions. These may include programs, off-sites, training sessions, communications and events. The scale may be global, such as with training programs rolled out across the CIB, or individual, such as coaching a senior manager. All this is achieved with the active partnership of the business and our HR Business Partner colleagues.
 
This individual will be based in Jersey City, focusing largely on the Markets & CFS VP-MD population. The role reports into the London-based head of Global Markets & CFS Learning & Development, Daniela Petrassi. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior development and training colleagues globally, as well as HR Business Partners. Junior resource will also be available to assist.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
 
This role is for an experienced VP, who as Development Manager will help create and execute a strategic and practical development plan for Markets & CFS. This is an excellent opportunity to work with established L&D specialists to develop your own skills, while adding value to a stimulating, energetic and interesting client group.
 
The individual will:
  • Consult with senior management and the businesses at differing levels, using strong relationship skills and expertise to diagnose issues and identify ongoing development needs for senior levels (VP to MD levels) within the line of business
  • Implement initiatives to address people issues within the line of business e.g. culture change programs, leadership development, diversity strategies etc.
  • Design and facilitate development interventions for teams and individuals, such as off-sites
  • Project manage specific global, cross line of business programs and processes (e.g. Employee Opinion Survey, Performance Development etc.)
  • Analyze, diagnose and report on individual and organizational issues based on data e.g. Employee Opinion Survey, 360 feedback reports etc.
  • Implement performance management and talent management processes in line with CIB and firm-wide processes
  • Facilitate development sessions in person or virtually
  • Coach individuals to improve performance, using a variety of tools such as 360, MBTI, Hogan Development Survey, Interpersonal Leadership Styles and relevant coaching techniques
  • Drive diversity approaches and implement initiatives
  • Advise HR Business Partners and managers on group, team and individual development
Candidate Requirements
 
  • Organizational development expertise and experience
  • Knowledge of individual, team, manager and leader development techniques such as off-sites and one-to-one executive coaching
  • Strong facilitation skills are needed, with great scope to develop these further in the role
  • Experience in designing and delivering development interventions is desirable
  • Experience working with senior internal clients, with an ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization and manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a team with others in a matrix environment; experience of managing others is desirable
  • Proven project management and planning skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to reach a mutually agreeable solution
  • Highly effective analytical skills - ability to provide clear, effective and concise reporting
  • Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant Master’s degree desirable
  • A strong learning orientation, in order to quickly acquire new techniques, tools and methods
