Job Description

The Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries group focuses on U.S. and Canadian companies typically with revenues of over $500mm which require traditional banking services in addition to investment banking products. The group partners with investment bankers, credit and other product partners to offer customized and complex financing solutions to our clients.
The CCBSI Business Management team is responsible for the organization, delivery, and execution of both strategic and tactical initiatives to support the business. The team partners closely with CCBSI senior management and key product and functional partners through various initiatives.
The Business Management Associate will play a key role in CCBSI’s growth agenda by supporting projects and initiatives as well as managing certain ongoing business needs to help drive business results.  The role offers a high level of visibility in CCBSI and Commercial Banking business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform strategic analysis that will drive senior management decision making and coordination across the firm
  • Synthesize information and prepare presentation materials to be shared with senior management, coverage groups, product groups and other relevant stakeholders
  • Perform extensive research on addressable market opportunities using proprietary and third party data, including research on specific companies, products, regions and industries
  • Identify areas for continued process improvement and enhance efficiencies by generating and executing on innovative ideas and solutions
  • Assist with the development, implementation and execution of key monthly and quarterly reporting to be leveraged by senior managers within the Commercial Bank and across the firm
  • Partner with CCBSI Business Management India team to develop and enhance reporting as well as monitor data quality and consistency
  • Address ad hoc requests and perform data analysis to support business groups and key product and functional partners

  • Problem solving skills – Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities coupled with the ability to identify issues, gather and manipulate data, obtain consensus and implement change.  Able to outline work process in a thoughtful and detailed manner.  Intellectually curious with a genuine interest in knowledge gathering and problem solving
  • Technical and analytical skills – Able to produce accurate, error-free analysis and reporting. Understand business drivers and ensure that the groups’ analyses are sound. Capable of synthesizing large amounts of data in Excel and from internal systems to develop strategic conclusions
  •  Leadership and interpersonal skills – Strong professional presence with the ability to interact and influence colleagues at all levels in the business.  Able to collaborate with peer team members across business and staff areas at all levels, and achieve goals without direct control over all resources.  Proactively seeks guidance, clarification and feedback from others. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience
  • Investment/Commercial banking experience preferred
  • Business management, finance and/or project management experience preferred
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint (PitchPro+) required
  • Familiarity with key data tools (e.g., Business Objects, FactSet) is a plus
  • SQL, Hadoop, and/or Qlik experience a plus
  • BA/BS degree is strongly encouraged
