The Military and Veterans Affairs office is responsible for driving the strategic priorities across employment; acclimation and development; small businesses; and strategic initiatives.  The overall mission is to continue and support JPMC’s diversity and philanthropic goals of creating a high-performing, diverse workforce, while investing in the communities we serve.  This role will report to the Head of Human Resources for Consumer & Community Banking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, drive and execute the overall strategy and key priorities of Military and Veterans Affairs.
  • Recruit the best military talent and lead coalitions of businesses nationally and across key regions to help promote and facilitate veteran employment. 
  • Drive collaboration and partnership with external veteran networking and community groups.
  • Drive efforts across retention, performance, and satisfaction of veterans as part of JPMC’s global diversity strategy.
  • Coordinate and partner with internal functions such as Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corporate Responsibility relating to design and implementation of best practices across recruiting, education, development, training as well as other appropriate programs.
  • Provide JPMC veterans with customized resources and tools; create an environment that leverages veterans’ character and leadership potential to benefit the firm.
  • Oversee the communication and events across MVA while continuing to drive new internal and external engagement opportunities.
  • Exceptional people management skills; sets and communicates goals; measures accomplishments, holds people accountable and gives useful real time feedback; develops and delegates well; keeps people informed; provides coaching for today and for the future and has the ability to inspire and lead with humanity across diverse groups and businesses.
  • Proven experience interfacing with government agencies, specifically the Department of Defense and Department of Veteran's Affairs.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with evidence of successful leadership and administrative/ management experience.
  • Previous experience with Recruiting of Veterans, Assimilation & Retention Programs, as well as participation in veteran related community programs or networking groups preferable.
  • Must be able to work well and remain flexible in an environment of constantly changing priorities and demanding deadline schedules.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, strategy development and execution; must have developed and implemented creative, timely and cost effective strategies and programs.
  • Hands-on, proactive, extremely resourceful; comfortable multi-tasking. 
  • Demonstrated results in identifying and implementing best practices related to programs, outreach, training, controls and metrics.
  • Commercial mindset, knowledge of or interest in learning about Financial Services.
