JPMorgan Asset Management Core Operations is located on the Morgan Christiana Campus in Newark, Delaware. The group is made up of roughly 150 employees performing support functions for the Front and Middle Office groups that are located in New York, NY and Columbus, Ohio.  Functions in Investment Management Core Operations include Portfolio Services, Cash Operations, Reconciliations, Fee Billing and CSA.
Functional Overview
The GIM Accounting & Income Team is responsible for customized client reporting, regulatory reporting and oversight of the accounting data repository (ADaM), and ensuring accuracy of accruals and income in client investment portfolios.  A specialist in this team is responsible for completing the day to day reports and review of exceptions.
The Accounting and Income Specialist is responsible for:
  • Preparation of custom client reports and regulatory reporting as well as review
  • Validation of accruals and income payments for client investment portfolios
    • Monitor errors in automated accrual processing
    • Research and resolve income payment discrepancies as part of the custody reconciliation process
  • Assist the Team Leads to ensure all deadlines are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Knowledge of the JPM investment accounting treatment, currently in Eagle STAR Accounting Platform, including:
    • Trading and other portfolio transaction activity
    • Earnings activity including interest and amortization of Assets in JPM Client Portfolios
    • Data flow and system architecture to be able to troubleshoot downstream issues
  • Knowledge of the JPM investment accounting data repository (ADaM) including:
    • Understanding of data flow and system architecture
    • Inbound data content and sources
    • Controls and reviews
    • Outbound data including feeds and reports
  • Communicate with other operational departments, Client Service Management, and the Portfolio Advisory teams  as well as Third Party Reporting Vendor, and partner  with those groups to resolve issues
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Detail oriented with focus on delivering results
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to identify issues, track to resolution and escalate when necessary
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Suite with in depth knowledge of Excel
  • Understanding of risk and controls
  • Analytical and problem solving
  • Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
