The Treasury Sales (TS) Technology Group Head will oversee a newly carved out Treasury Solutions vertical within Commercial Bank’s Corporate Client Banking and Segmented Industries (CCBSI), supporting  Technology companies nationally that range from emerging start-ups to multi-billion dollar companies.

 

The TS Technology Group Head will have responsibility for managing a team of 4 - 6 treasury professionals. This individual must maintain and develop trusted advisor relationships with Coverage Partner leadership, Bankers, Service, Product Leadership (Core Cash, Card, Liquidity, Supply Chain Finance and Paymentech) and Implementation teams. The TS Technology Group Head plays a key role in the development of the Sales Treasury Management Officers (TMO’s) and Sales Associates (SA’s), delivering an exceptional experience for clients, winning new business, growing existing business, mitigating risk and appropriately guiding the team.

 

The ideal candidate must have high quality executive presence, be capable of navigating and building constructive relationships in a complex matrix environment, demonstrate success, establish solid partnerships and deliver against quantitative and qualitative goals.  

 
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish a strategy and execution framework to support a dedicated Technology vertical for companies that have previously been managed on a geographic segmentation approach
  • Hire and manage a team of 4 – 6 TMO’s/SA’s, providing leadership, coaching, feedback and development on all aspects needed to achieve successful performance
  • Drive tailored TS sales strategies, solutions and value proposition development to the clients in the different technology sub-industries
  • Engage in a disciplined marketing process and quality call activities. Manage customer expectations by communicating timelines and deliverables.  Partner with clients to ensure successful implementation of TS products
  • Oversee the development of actionable relationship account plans for target clients and manage, guide and coach on the development of high-quality client proposals/presentations
  • Build collaborative internal relationships with Leadership, Bankers, other internal partners; communicate key TS messages efficiently and accurately
  • Align daily activities to drive strategic business objectives
  • Protect the firm by applying sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Own and escalate client issues and leverage the appropriate resources to champion results
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of:
    • Leading a sales team in the Technology industry
    • Delivering strong financial results
    • Being a trusted advisor to clients, partners and employees
Responsibilities include:
Lead team of TMO’s and SA’s to deliver on business growth objectives
  • Recruit, train, lead, coach, and motivate sales personnel
  • Cultivate larger prospect relationships
  • Develop strategies to drive key metrics growth
  • Develop, monitor and analyze performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness relative to key metric performance and goals
  • Implement strategies and tactics to improve performance, efficiency and partner service
  • Plan and direct sales activities
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership, follow-up and project management skills
  • Lead/execute special projects and assignments as required
  • Strong controllership skills including managing expense budget to plan and adherence to process policies and procedures

  • Communication – Strong ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with senior levels of the organization (internally and externally)
  • Problem Solving – Ability to identify a problem’s root cause and drive to resolution. Ability to direct escalations and ensure follow through
  • Performance Measurement – Sense of urgency and ability to manage and direct staff and deliver all facets of performance management (coaching, career mobility, reviews, action plans, etc.) Ability to measure key performance metrics and drive organization accordingly
  • Business Acumen – Ability to understand the overarching Treasury Service business environment within the Technology industry - both internally and externally. Ability to drive business results in alignment with strategic objectives. Ability to drive and manage process and controls
  • Other Key Competencies include: change management, process management, coaching, strategic leadership, consultancy, delegation, interviewing, exceptional presentation skills, Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of credit card industry, banking environment, or merchant services is preferred
  • Available for extensive travel

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or Masters in Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of TS management experience
  • Experience in managing geographically distributed team
  • Sales management in B2B sales with a documented track record of success / top performance
  • Strong coaching, motivation and leadership skills; ability to network, recruit, train, develop and promote sales personnel
