Wealth Management - Business Finance Manager - VP

Job Description

The Private Bank delivers highly customized and tailored solutions to help clients with the many complexities they face by leveraging the entire commercial and investment banking capabilities of the firm. The Private Bank addresses every facet of wealth management from investment management and brokerage to tax and estate planning, credit, capital raising, and specialty wealth advisory services.
 
The Business Finance Manager (“BFM”) will be based in Los Angeles, with responsibility to support the regional business agenda and specific offices within the Western region.  This role will report directly to the USPB West Regional CFO (with dotted line accountability to regional and market leadership).  The BFM will provide business management oversight including financial, information, and sales management. This role involves frequent interaction with senior management and front office advisors in a fast-paced team environment, as well as accountability for broader regional projects. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategic advisor to market leadership
  • Manage financial planning and forecasting processes as well as long-term business planning
  • Provide business information and analysis (e.g., financial reporting and commentary, monitor performance vs. plan)
  • Conduct analyses to drive further insights and opportunities within markets
  • Enable management by providing timely, accurate information
  • Drive disciplined expense management
  • Assist with meeting management and agenda setting (e.g. sales meetings)
  • Provide disciplined project management on market growth initiatives and  ad hoc projects
  • Provide support to client advisors in the markets
  • Research and resolve data issues

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a preferred concentration in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years experience in a financial management environment
  • Previous experience within financial services or wealth management industry preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (including Excel formulas & pivot tables, Access tables, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, strategic thinker
  • Client focused with a tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
  • High energy and enthusiasm required to partner with multiple stakeholders
  • Flexibility for regular travel to spend time in-market
