The Global Technology Strategic Programs & Business Management group sits under the Global Chief Information Officer and plays a vital role in the success of JPMorgan Chase’s 40,000+ person and $9 billion technology organization. The group is led by Courtney Smith Goodrich, a member of the Global Technology Operating Committee, and is made up of four teams which partner closely together:
  • The Program Management team oversees the most critical technology initiatives and coordinates program management practices across the Global Technology organization
  • The Improvement & Turnaround team helps to accelerate critical technology projects; assists in turning around at-risk projects; and identifies, vets and pursues cross-business opportunities involving technology
  • The Intellectual Property Management team is responsible for protecting the firm’s intellectual property (IP), advising on IP transactions, and getting value from the IP assets.
  • The Business Management, Analytics & Reporting performs analysis and makes recommendations on key business decisions; delivers key reporting to the firm’s senior management; coordinates cross-function efforts in partnership with each technology group as well as corporate functions (e.g. HR, Finance); and provides governance across the Global Technology organization


As part of the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Mortgage & Credit Risk technology team, specific responsibilities will include producing project scope documents, performing complex data analysis, data mapping, creating solutions, creating user stories, defining test scenarios and scripts, test execution and implementation tracking, liaising with the Mortgage and Credit Risk end-users on business related project deliverables and the technology build teams on build related project deliverables. 


These core responsibilities as a technical business analyst will be utilized in critical projects for GWM credit technology projects, including:

  1. Credit Interfaces with external/internal vendors 

  2. Collateral monitoring processes

  3. Projects related to credit risk processes and regulations.

Responsibilities include adherence to the defined Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC) processes, project deliverable management, issue and risk identification and tracking, as well as status reporting.


Role Specific Responsibilities 

  • Serve as liaison between the Technology build team and Credit and Mortgage business users

  • Assist the business in identifying, assessing, and documenting business requirements

  • Provide input to the development of formal business cases

  • Own the documentation of the design, working with the business to analyze their business requirements and in return, providing technical expertise and producing functional design for any application additions, changes and modifications

  • Work with other analysts and the technology, development team to design solutions for clients

  • Develop epics and user stories to explain / demonstrate business requirements / specifications to technology teams

  • Perform data analysis, including loading data in tables using SQL to analyze the data

  • Understand the context in which data is used within the business and match business requirements to the sources of data within systems

  • Define data quality plans to address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues

  • Document test strategies ensuring that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test scripts, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed

  • Develop and execute system integration test scripts and ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations as part of systems integration testing

  • Work with external vendors in meeting functional specifications and tracking deliverables against defined timelines

  • Identify and communicate risks to producing various deliverables and solutions on time

  • On day to day basis analyze data flow between the systems, conduct root cause analyses and/or provide design solutions based on findings/requirements


  • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to provide solution on complex enterprise level and multiple inter-connected/inter-dependent applications

  • Highly disciplined individual, self-motivated, delivery focused with the ability to work independently as well in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively at both technical and business level
  • Ability to learn and comprehend new systems and business processes quickly
  • Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst in the financial industry with prior development experience

  • Experience in Financial Industry, working on technology projects

  • Preferable experience in Mortgage Industry, Credit Industry, Related technology projects

  • Experience with large, complex projects

  • Experience in using agile for complex enterprise level application

  • Detailed knowledge of the project lifecycle and SDLC and related deliverables

  • Bachelors degree Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a structured manner with excellent timekeeping skills
  • Work under minimum direction and use independent judgment in decision-making

  • Required to know Excel, Power Point, Visio, SQL Tools, Jira

  • Experience in writing medium to complex SQL queries

  • Background in system design/development
