Audience Targeting - Business Systems Analyst II

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities –


The Marketing Services List Management team is responsible for the creation of targeted lists of customers which are leveraged to deploy communications and execute other marketing treatments for Chase Credit Card, Auto Finance and Mortgage customers.


The Business Systems Analyst II will be one of the more senior individual contributors within the Marketing Services List Management team. Responsibilities will include:


·         Determining what data will be needed in order identify the targeted population and how to obtain it from internal sources.

·         Developing code using SAS, SQL and Teradata to extract, manipulate and segment data.

·         Documenting how the marketing list was generated, including data sources used and how suppressions were applied so that it can reviewed by business requestors and other stakeholders.

·         Ensuring that department guidelines are followed and that list generation meets documented guidelines dictated by policies and regulations.

·         Identifying issues, risks and opportunities and leading efforts to improve the processes used by the team.

·         Acting as a subject matter expert for both technical and business aspects of the list creation process.

·         Working with business partners to come up with an approach to meet targeting needs

·         Performing data analytics as needed to provide insight into targeting opportunities

Acting as mentor to junior analysts on the team, providing training and quality control validations on their work as needed.



Bachelors degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. A concentration in relevant l fields is preferred (e.g. Statistics, Business Intelligence, Marketing, Computer Science etc.)





·   Experience analyzing and manipulating data, preferably in a List Management or Database Marketing role.

·   Experience using SAS, preferably base SAS on Unix, as well as SQL and Oracle or Teradata databases

·   Knowledge of regulations that pertain to communicating and marketing to customers(such as privacy and TCPA regulations) is preferred.

·   Experience diagnosing gaps in processes and procedures coming up with detailed recommendations and implementing changes.

·   Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·   A background in the banking/financial services industry is preferred.



·   Excellent verbal communication and correspondence skills

·   Result oriented with proactive approach to resolving problems

·   Ability to act as a leader within a team and coach more junior members of the team

·   Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment

·   Ability to listen/observe/acknowledge/lead by example and provide recommendations

·   Should be comfortable presenting to large groups of peers as well business partners at all levels

·   Good time management and ability to prioritize

·   Plan and organize with clarity and attention to detail; quality oriented
