The Firm wide Chief Development Office (FCDO) within Global Technical Engineering & Architecture is responsible for providing thought leadership around technology development strategies, multi-year roadmaps to deliver against those strategies, establishment of platforms, process and frameworks for improved and efficient application delivery across JPMC. The FCDO office shall bring together a unified vision across Line of Businesses (LOBs) to set priorities and direction around the Application Development capabilities, process and platforms for the firm as well as define implementable firm wide common tools, frameworks and processes to improve developer productivity and efficiencies.

The primary responsibility of this role is to define and architect solutions for strategic initiatives and help drive their implementation and deployment specifically around Improving Developer Productivity. Focus area will be around development of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and the approach, strategy and implementation around this area.  This job reports to a Managing Director in the GTA group. To be successful, this individual must possess strong technical skills, business knowledge, communications skills, organizational development and management abilities, a focus on quality, an ability to innovate, and strong influencing and leadership characteristics.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technologies and concepts.
  • Delivery of multiple projects or initiatives to drive the execution of several
  • CDO initiatives.
  • Develop project plans, scorecards and manage them through to successful
  • implementation
  • Proactive Organization and management of tasks
  • Escalation, tracking and resolution of issues, risks, decisions and actions in a timely manner
  • Weekly reporting of status and metrics to senior management and stakeholders

 

Knowledge and Skills Sets

  • Minimum 10+ years development experience
  • Minimum 5+ years architecture experience
  • Experience defining software development practices across teams of individuals
  • Strong understanding of SDLC process and methodology
  • Agile, Waterfall experience as a developer and a team lead  
  • Extensive experience with continuous delivery architectures and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant experience working with enterprise architecture patterns and solid working knowledge of enterprise architecture best practices
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team members
  • Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Enterprise architecture experience for large organizations
  • Experience working with vendors across technology stack (e.g. application server, continuous integration)
  • Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications or equivalent experience
