Team Description

The role of Product Development is to partner with the broader team to set the strategic direction of the traditional fund services business (TFS), develop new products for the business and work with prospects and clients on new services.  The ideal candidate is an energetic strategic thinker, with deep knowledge of  TFS who can define, develop, deliver market leading products that enhance client satisfaction, support sustainable business growth and deliver positive shareholder value add (SVA).

They should also be resourceful and execution-driven. Strong cross-functional/business collaboration skills are required as they will work across multiple teams within the bank. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills are a must. Also important are the ability to: synthesize large amounts of information into crisp recommendations; present and defend recommendations to a variety of audiences; manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively.

 

Job Description

The role is a Project Manager in the JPM Product Development team, you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery and implementation.  The team is responsible for the majority of strategic projects which impact JPM Fund Services, however this roles primary focus is Fund Accounting.  There are numerous projects being managed by the team at any one time, and it is expected that all team members are flexible enough to work on and potentially manage multiple projects concurrently

The role will require excellent communication skills, the candidate will be expected to build strong relationships with both the regional and global management teams and all levels.  Project updates will be required to senior management and must be of a very high standard.  It is also critically important to the success of the program that a strong working relationship is built and maintained across all impacted global teams, ensuring transparency and buy in of the strategy and realization of the business benefits.

 

The team is global, reporting to a program manager in EMEA, this role will be responsible for all elements of strategic project management and implementation – employing a well defined governance management, framework and reporting structure to ensure consistent on time project delivery, in a controlled environment.  The role will require the candidate to coordinate multiple work streams at a global level.   The role will need active management of the Operations team and the ability to support them in removing any blockers preventing implementation.

We work with a number of different project methodologies, but predominately Agile and Waterfall.

 

Responsibilities

  • Communication to project stakeholders locally & to distributed stake holders globally
  • Track project status and provide status reporting to global implementation lead & senior stakeholders
  • Track issues and manage the resolution process
  • Facilitate the Implementation project kick-off and status meetings
  • Gain approval for the implementation schedule and project plan at fund domicile location
  • Support the deployment in a pragmatic hands on manner where appropriate
  • Measure improvement in operations environment against the project success criteria
  • Creates application change requests and highlight functionality gaps/bugs where appropriate
  • Interact with other projects within the global team to ensure common approach to solutions that work for operating groups globally
  • Works closely with technology to ensure user stories are sufficiently detailed and there is collective understanding between the business and technology of the required solution
  • Support operations and technology partners in a pragmatic hands on, collaborative work environment

  • Project Management – Experienced and proven financial services operations / project manager, who is comfortable working in a distributed operating model, with stakeholders in multiple geographical locations
  • Execution & Persistence - proven ability to execute and deliver to agreed deadlines within highly complex and global projects
  • Leadership & Visionary - ability to operate within a remote virtual team to deliver the strategic vision
  • Organization & Planning - ability to track and monitor multiple deliverables globally, demonstrating influencing and negotiation skills and cultural awareness for dealing with global teams
  • Ownership & Partnership - take the lead and ownership for project deliveries but a strong need to partner with all parties to ensure success
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with an ability to support and coach team

  • Experience of a managing across multiple work streams at a global level
