Legal- Human Resources Law EEO Case Management Team Paralegal II (Chicago)

The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by Practice Groups to conform to the Firm’s lines of business and corporate staff areas.  This structure encourages legal teams, corporate staff and businesses to discus legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and timely.
The EEO Case Management Team within the Human Resources Law Group handles employment-related discrimination charges filed with US local, state and federal governmental agencies against JPMorgan Chase. 
As an EEO Case Management Paralegal, you will:
  • Prepare case chronologies and preliminary risk assessments for new charges
  • Determine appropriate comparators based on allegations and create demographic reports as needed
  • Gather relevant records, documents to assist team in handling charges
  • Identify legal and procedural issues
  • Conduct legal research on employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with other ad hoc reporting requests and projects as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks, including tracking charges in our legal matter management on-line tool (GOLD)
  • High competency in Excel (formulas to compute basic statistics, pivot tables, merge data via VLOOKUP, etc.), Word and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of PeopleSoft, WEBI queries, GOLD, Sharepoint and iManage is a plus.

  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters
  • Self-starter and have the ability to manage own workload and prioritize tasks to meet goals including managing deadlines
  • Solid judgment and understanding of when to escalate issues
  • 2 -3 years of recent experience in a law firm, in-house, HR/ER or equivalent required
  • Paralegal certificate is a plus
