Infrastructure Developer - Linux Configuration Lead

Youll ensure team goals are met and best practices, architectural design standards, data, risk and security management policies are adhered to. Youll be instrumental in designing, developing and testing code, solving more difficult technical issues, developing integration elements, building data models, APIs, and open 3rd-party SDKs. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

Significant experience in both Systems Engineering and Software development

Proficiency in at least one of these disciplines:

o    Internals of distributed Operating System (Unix/Linux, Windows, Z/OS)

o    Systems programming

o    Network programming

Experience using large scale software development in one of these languages: Linux scripting and automation (BASH, PERL, Ruby, Python, Jenkins)

Experience using system and software security and entitlements such as SSO, windows, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD

Experience with new and emerging technologies such as cloud and virtualization


·       Analysis of the organization's business needs with the capability to translate Line of Business requirements for automation use cases into design and implementation plans.

·       Architectural development of robust Operating system, middleware and application configuration solutions across GTI and a line of business partners.

·       Development and architecture of database environments as it relates to configuration management data stores.

·       Analyze new emerging technologies in the Linux/Unix Configuration Management space and translate functionality of the new technology into an effective IT vision and strategy.

The Core Foundation Services (CFS) team is responsible for providing end to end support for critical technologies that are used across the company. This includes Configuration and Orchestration, Identity Management, Name Services, Enterprise Monitoring Solutions, and automation tools used to manage these technologies.


The Configuration Management & Automation Services (CMAS) team is seeking a candidate that will focus on infrastructure development for Linux/Unix based operating systems providing enterprise scale configuration management services and solutions.  The ideal candidate must be able to create full configuration management driven system life-cycle service applications, ensuring technology interoperability and flexible integration with other systems.  Proficiency in documentation is a must for existing and new proposed configuration management infrastructures. The ability to provide complex troubleshooting/support within all levels of organization. 



This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems.  Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter.  The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.

    • 5+ yrs - Solid experience in Linux scripting and automation (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python, Jenkins).
    • 5+ yrs - Solid RESTful API code development skills.
    • 5+ yrs - Solid experience of configuration management products (Puppet, Ansible)
    • 3+ yrs Solid experience in programming languages (C, C++, Java).
    • 5+ yrs Solid Linux/Unix Operating System experience (RedHat, Linux, AIX).
    • Good working knowledge of database types (Oracle, NoSQL, Graph).
    • Experience with software packaging, versioning, and deployment.
    • Experience with re-development of existing processes.
    • Working knowledge of Cloud and virtualization technologies.
    • Web development experience with HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Apache/Tomcat.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix security and encryption technologies.
    • Experience with working on enterprise wide infrastructure projects with other teams..
    • Ability to use and work with a variety of technologies and tools
