Job Description

ABL Originator Associate
Primary role is to support ABL Originators in building and retaining profitable relationships within the ABL Segment. As the Originator Associate gains experience, they will be assigned as back up on certain client relationships and handle client meetings on matters related to financing and other products. The Associate will support the origination of asset-based loans ranging from ~$5 million to ~$250 million + in size.
The Originator Associate position is focused on mastering the skills necessary to become an effective ABL Originator.
  • Prepare analysis of company’s capital structure and relevant modeling
  • Work with SMA to identify, research and screen prospects in addition to partnering on marketing campaigns/initiatives
  • Prepare origination pre-screen memos for internal credit review, to include financial summary, company overview, risk grading, borrowing base and term sheet
  • Assist in legal calls including credit agreement discussions as well as work on proposal letters
  • Prepare presentations/pitchbooks for Originator client/prospect meetings
  • Generate ideas, calling prioritization and preparation
  • Evaluate company’s strategy, performance and ways JPMC can add value
  • Collaborate with Originators, Credit, Bankers and other Product Partners for proposal generation (structuring/execution)
  • Assist in training and development of Analysts
  • Prepare the analytical component of company’s presentations, working with product areas in matching product functionality against company’s need
  • Assist Originators in working on control and compliance related items
  • Participate in or lead special projects as requested by Region/Market/Segment Managers
  • Minimum of 2 years of analyst or equivalent experience with a preference for 3 years
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to partner with others on the JPMC Banking Team
  • Self-motivated, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred.
