Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.

 

GTI-Infrastructure Development (GID) is focused on developing and delivering services that integrate software solutions with infrastructure in innovative, cost effective and efficient ways. The GID team provides services for use by business-aligned application delivery organizations, across all layers of the software stack, which may include application interface services, productivity and collaboration tools, and data integration solutions.

 

Currently we are seeking an Agile Applications Development Manager, to manage multiple Agile teams.  The candidate will work closely with Chief Product Owners, the Engineering Director and our senior management, in managing the delivery pipeline of engineering products across the portfolio.  The candidate will also directly manage a large number of Agile team members in a flat organization model, providing career mentoring, coaching and development of a talented group of engineers, while creating and fostering the right culture to attract and retain diverse technical talent.

 

Role Description:

  • Manage ongoing projects, vendor relationships, and assemble and directly manage Agile feature teams
  • Attract and retain diverse and highly skilled engineering talent.  Manage relationships with internal / external recruiting teams and project vendors
  • Collaborate across regions with our Chief Product Owners, Principal Developers, Technical Portfolio Managers and other stakeholders, while managing project delivery across multiple teams
  • Influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management, while having exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Coach and develop team members in their professional career
  • Build and foster a strong, diverse, collaborative, and flat engineering culture
  • Coach teams on Agile principles and practices, with an emphasis on principles
  • Remove impediments from teams
  • Manage a multi-million dollar budget in accordance to Firm standards and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all JPMC engineering standards and processes, including Audit, Compliance, Risk / Regulatory, and Quality. 
  • Achieves positive outcomes by identifying common interests, clarifying differences, and achieving consensus or compromise
  • Works to improve and reinforce performance in others; facilitates their skill development

Education and experience:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated collaborative leadership, coaching / mentoring, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • 5+ years experience directly managing multiple engineering teams across geographical boundaries
  • Multinational experience across the USA, UK, and India strongly preferred
  • Proven commitment to diversity as a vehicle to build strong teams
  • Prior experience with managing the business end of large scale programs:  budgeting, vendor management, recruitment, timelines, program and project management
  • Prior programming experience in web technologies
  • Knowledge of distributed systems infrastructure.  Experience in infrastructure design and provisioning highly helpful
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Exposure to developer and tester practices like CI, BDD, TDD, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in the Agile SDLC, as a participant and mentor
  • Assembling and presenting pitches to senior technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives
  • BS degree in a technical discipline, or BA degree in a business discipline, with demonstrated technical experience
