Commercial Banking - Wholesale Lending External Reporting Controller - Associate

Job Description

This role, within the Wholesale Lending-Firmwide External Reporting Control Team, (“FERC”) provides a unique opportunity to navigate through a period of change; influencing and building partnerships with the SEC and Regulatory teams as well as Policy, Product Controllers, Operations and Risk professionals.  The mission for the team is to ensure accurate and complete financial disclosures for the firm’s wholesale lending businesses. Our goal is to continuously improve the reporting process through enhancements to the control environment and the operating model.
Responsibilities include:
  • Perform timely review of monthly/quarterly validations and attestations related to wholesale lending disclosure including lending sections in the earnings press release supplement, SEC and regulatory filings and other credit related external reporting
  • Focus on continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and wholesale lending external reporting improvement projects
  • Lead implementation efforts related to new regulatory reports or reporting requirements, finance reporting infrastructure, and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with Consumer Lending-FERC , wholesale loan technology, operations, risk professionals, and corporate functions on matters impacting lending related disclosure
  • Collaborate with Wholesale Credit Analytics & Solutions (WCAS), Financial Information Reporting Solutions (FIRS), and Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) Technology on CCAR FRY-14Q (schedules H, K and M) reporting improvement initiatives
  • Provide senior level status reporting on technology and strategic initiatives impacting the library of schedules and controls owned by Wholesale Lending External Reporting
  • Oversee control environment related to wholesale lending external reporting including SOX and RCSA testing
  • Respond to audit (external and internal) inquiry
  • Address inquiry and adhoc request from bank regulators, e.g., FRB, OCC, FDIC, FSA
  • CPA or equivalent professional credential
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in external reporting, in banking industry
  • Experience and advanced skill presenting to senior leaders
  • Experience managing and developing others
  • Superior skills with Microsoft  PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with of SAP, CDGL, BPC, Essbase, CRI/CRRT, Tableau a plus
