Business Analyst
Glasgow Technology Centre
Application Analyst:
  • Working with Market Data Control to gather initial information for audits, this includes a lot of excel based report running and analysis
  • Supporting the exchange audit process which includes compiling responses to auditors and validating all data that leaves the team by comparing reports vs original data (FITS vs DACS etc.)
  • Assisting with financial issues e.g. Invoice vs inventory anomalies, working with the Market Data Control team and Market Data Vendors/Exchanges (We do not pay invoices in this team)
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests from vendors in relation to Contracts or fees
  • Assisting the Market Data Control team with Data Notifications: these are notices from vendors and exchanges to explain changes to data/contracts or fees related to application use of data
  • Application Compliance – We are responsible for ensuring that Applications use the data in conjunction with the relevant rules and regulations.  Therefore there is a requirement to chase application owners for updates, updating the tracker, producing regular progress reports, highlighting issues with progress
  • Working with a project manager and developer to automate as much of the administrative work as possible to enable the team to work on more analysis.
  • Good understanding of how Applications use data in their workflows
  • Good understanding of Market Data Products
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including look-ups and pivot tables as minimum
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tackle difficult meeting environments
Infrastructure Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, Manage and Own Multi-Million Dollar Global Infrastructure Budget
  • Drive Infrastructure Productivity Targets across the Line Of Business
  • Liaise with Project Management & Development Teams to Manage Financial Investment Forecasts
  • Negotiate Investment Delivery Priorities across Investment Bank
  • Accountability to Finance Department for Budget Tracking and Reporting
  • An Understanding Of Datacentre Management and Experience of Differing Infrastructure Types including Network devices, Connectivity, Cabling, Servers, Low Latency Appliances
  • An Understanding of End to End Application Lifecycle from Project Cost Estimation, Infrastructure Install, App Development & Deployment to App Retirement
  • Timely Management of Spend and Change Approvals
  • Project and Resource Tracking and Reporting to Senior Management Team
  • Ability to work in fast paced Agile Teams
  • Good Communicator and Comfortable Facing Off to Senior Management
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills
