Firmwide Risk Reporting and Middle Office is a function within Corporate Risk that manages the production and distribution of large volumes of technical risk reports across the organization, covering all products and risk. Within this organization the Risk Middle Office functions are focused on supporting the accuracy and completeness of data,  key metrics, and support and interaction of the respective risk organizations. 
This Vice President role will be focused specifically on the Market Risk Middle Office functions in support of Capital market risk measures – Regulatory VaR, Stressed VaR, and Capital modelled measures. Market risk represents exposure to an adverse change in the market value of financial instruments caused by a change in market parameters.   In this capacity, this role will interact with Risk Management executives, LOB Product Control teams, Reporting, Operate, and Technology.   This role will encompass all facets of the Market Risk Middle Office responsibilities, with a focus on those functions supporting Capital calculations.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Hands on manager to focus not only on the BAU, but overall process improvements, identification of control issues, and strategic initiatives in support of market risk
  • Ability to effectively manage functional teams in multiple locations/time zones
  • Facilitate/manage the identification and remediation of data quality issues impacting processes
  • Ongoing support of changing regulatory requirements
  • Development, production, and assessment of ad hoc, daily, weekly and monthly metrics and control reports
  • Work closely with key constituents to ensure all requirements are being appropriately addressed
  • Keen appreciation for technology related issues to facilitate resolution in conjunction with technology colleagues
  • Ongoing identification of and implementation of appropriate controls to facilitate a strong control environment
  • Self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
  • Experience in coordinating processes across multiple teams/key consitutents
  • Proven ability to establish the necessary structure, processes, controls and communication mechanisms
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Acute attention to detail, engagement in the details of the processes
  • Product knowledge of a range of asset classes such as Credit, Rates, Equities and Commodities
  • Strong influencing abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and bring tasks to complete closure
  • Strong control focus
  • Relevant Finance or Risk Management related experience
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience in financial services
  • Graduate degree desireable
