Cloud Operate Service Transition Lead

Job Description

The firm is transitioning compute to the cloud and moving to a DevOps model.  It's critical that the support model for the cloud environment, the applications that are transitioning to the cloud and the services that they will be using is clearly defined and tested.

This role is designed to ensure that:
The support requirements for new cloud based services can be determined and implemented in an efficient manner.
That applications teams understand and can implement the support model and tooling they require efficiently.
That firm wide ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Asset, Configuration, Hygiene and Event Management.....) and tools are modified to allow for cloud based services.
This is a hands on role and will involve drilling into specific processes and tools and working with the SMEs to determine the optimum solution for the cloud.
Some programming skills would be useful for any proof of concept work.


Experience of working with Cloud Service Providers, preferably in an operate aligned role.

Experience with transitioning and supporting applications with a cloud footprint.

Technical background - server, OS & Linux preferable, network background a plus.


•Strong business analysis skills, understanding the business needs and processes of the client

•Ability to provide impact assessments of future business capabilities within a suite of infrastructure solutions with limited information on scope

•Solid grasp of project management principles, and previous project management experience

•Promote client centric environment for work with teams and contributors

•Ability to consult with others, both internally within GTI and the LOBs

•Aptitude for developing repeatable solutions

•Excellent analytical, problem solving, and time management skills

•Ability to execute on various task assignments and self-prioritize.

•Strong communication and presentation skills

•Proficient at conflict resolution, negotiation & partnership/influence

•Strong teamwork and client management skills

•Risk & Issue Management

•Ensure risk and control compliance to departmental and companywide standards

•Ensure adherence to financial controls and budget management

•MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint experience required

•Database, Programming (API), SharePoint & JIRA experience a plus
