Business Systems Analyst I
Perform Business Analysis functions for the execution of complex marketing campaigns.  This includes being responsible for assessing information extracted from multiple data sources, resolving inconsistencies, and transforming high-level information into a detailed technical specification document. The position requires an individual to distinguish between the client’s wants and needs and to challenge assumptions in the programs recommending alternative solutions to technical and business related problems.  The candidate will act as a liaison between the business users and the technical development team addressing issues and ensuring clear communication. 
Once the technical specification document is completed, the Business Systems Analyst will develop and execute SAS/SQL code to define customer populations to be targeted in marketing campaigns.  Research data elements to be used for targeting using database metadata.  Validate, audit and test the output produced to ensure that the program meets the original request.  The Business Systems Analyst will also perform general research and analysis in support of marketing program execution and provide business analysis support for ad-hoc requests and special projects as assigned.  Establish strong business partnerships with other members of project teams.  Suggest process improvements and assist in updating department documentation, as needed.
  • Requires 5 years of related Business Analyst experience.
  • Knowledge of SAS or demonstrated ability to quickly learn SAS.
  • 1-2 years of experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and program management skills required, including a detailed understanding of how to translate customer business needs into operational requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required and advanced Excel knowledge is desired.
  • Candidate should be detail-oriented, technically astute, and possess strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to resolving problems.
  • Solid understanding of credit card marketing programs is desired.
  • Familiarity or experience in operations, direct marketing, and data analysis in a banking or financial institution environment a strong plus.
  • Experience with Teradata is helpful, but not required.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux.
