Credit Risk Sr. Associate, Commercial Banking Middle Market Specialized Industries
The Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Not-for-Profit (GHHN) credit team at JPMorgan partners with the sales organization to provide lending products and services to our targeted client base.  As a Credit Risk Sr. Associate, your primary role is the underwriting and management of a portfolio consisting of operating and specific primary exposures.
  • Performs necessary credit analysis, due diligence, and review of documents for new transactions and monitors/manages ongoing performance/risk of accounts within his/her assigned portfolio of GHHN clients under direction of senior staff (typically Sr. UW or Credit Executive)
  • Recognized for good credit knowledge, policy expertise and analytical abilities. 
  • A contributing member of the deal team, managing transactions to completion with little or no guidance from immediate manager.
  • Uses credit authority to approve extensions of credit predominantly operational in nature 
  • Has developed knowledge of the specifics of the business unit and/or products being supported and may serve as support to underwriters and credit analysts on topics related to operating risk, treasury services product, and other specific structures in GHHN.
  • Will handle market-wide projects related to operating risk initiatives.
Minimum Skills Required:
  • Focus on TS structures and operating risk combined with sound underwriting of revolving and term facilities (below $5.0 million)
  • Possesses accounting and finance knowledge, and commercial banking experience.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent partnerships and relationships throughout the CB, including bankers, TS, derivatives, implementations, ACH and funds control, internal counsel, service, support groups, etc.
  • Client facing , as needed
  • Requires impeccable organization skills, attention to detail, and highly efficient work methods
  • Flexibility and the ability to identify larger opportunities and to effect warm hand-offs of same to other appropriate  team members
  • Existing knowledge of Chase infrastructure on products and services a plus
 Minimum Experience Required:
  • 4 to 7 years professional banking experience
  • BA/BBA/MBA and completion of a formal major corporate/commercial bank credit analyst training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience) and
  • minimum of 2- 5 years commercial underwriting /banking/lending experience which might include credit, structuring and marketing.
