J.P. Morgan Private Bank Marketing is seeking an Editor to shape and publish multi-channel investment and financial market content for J.P. Morgan Private Bank clients and prospects. This position is within Private Bank Marketing’s Creative Services team, an in-house agency that creates content and marketing materials for Private Bank clients and prospects.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of how branded content can be packaged and used across a full digital ecosystem. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and editing content to make it channel appropriate, routing assets for review and packaging materials for publishing.
The Editor must be able to interact easily and readily with Marketing strategists and business thought leaders, as well as writing, design, video, print and digital production partners to develop and deliver content across multiple client and public platforms. The candidate should be experienced at pitching ideas and digital content strategies.
This role will also be responsible for helping Creative Services evolve the quality of our content and procedures with an emphasis on our digital content and channels. The Editor will help coach others in digital content creation.
This position requires close collaboration with key partners, including:
Edit investment and financial-related content for both financial professional and investor target audiences, including, but not limited to:
Digital content: articles, headlines, teasers, infographics, apps and social media
Value-add materials: technical articles, market commentaries, white papers, etc.
Ensure that complex investment and financial concepts are presented in a clear, engaging, channel appropriate manner
Ensure that the voice of J.P. Morgan Private Bank is represented in a consistent way across our content and channels; ensure that our content adheres to the J.P. Morgan Bank editorial style guide
Work with all stakeholders to reach agreement on final copy; ensure all compliance comments are addressed and that compliance approval is received prior to publishing content
Keep stakeholders informed of status, and deliver within deadlines
Generate content ideas and initiate conversations with Marketing and Investment teams
Stay current on global financial markets, regulatory and global economic activities
Perform regular marketing competitive analysis for continual content improvement
Perform other assignments and special projects, as required
Minimum 5 years experience editing financial content for digital channels
Outstanding editorial skills; experienced in editing content for scope, flow, style and tone guidelines
Experience managing complex content programs through cross-functional teams
Experience across a variety of asset types, including video, audio and infographics
Experience managing freelancers; a personal network of strong financial writers that can be called upon is a bonus
B.A./B.S. degree (Journalism/English/Creative Writing a plus); Master’s degree a plus
Must be a highly organized person with excellent writing, communication and people skills; able to work in fast-paced environment and drive processes
Possess a high level of attention to detail with the ability to multitask, problem-solve and reprioritize workload as needed
Experience with presenting ideas and leading creative discussions
A desire to coach team members about digital publishing best practices
Diplomacy to hear all sides, yet possessing the self-confidence to make recommendations on how a message can be conveyed most effectively for the intended audience
Able to work as part of a team and as a creative partner with Art Directors, Editors, Writers (both on-site and freelance) and Digital Content Delivery teams
Intellectually curious, able to identify and leverage new best practices and trends and incorporate them into our content delivery processes
Have a passion for “raising the bar”
