Risk and Finance Technology (RFT) builds and supports the firm's financial infrastructure to ensure Finance professionals have access to the tools and information necessary to deliver drive success. In partnership with Global Finance Operations, Corporate Systems Infrastructure (CSi), and others, we deliver solutions that meet the requirements of our key clients. RFT provides technology support for general ledger, profitability, cost allocations, treasury, accounts payable, reference data, project accounting and fixed assets, and reporting tools and the Risk applications.


The Global Finance, Corporate Treasury and Risk Management (RFT) organization's charter is to build scalable systems and a resilient infrastructure that meet shared requirements and objectives for the firm: robust data quality and management; technology architecture and operating models; and new regulatory reporting requirements, including those related to the firm's Basel risk data integration, risk reporting principles, comprehensive capital analysis, and recovery and resolution programs.

 

As part of this organization, the RFT Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Finance Technology group provides functional support to the CCB’s Chief Financial Officer’s Organization. The group owns the holistic technology relationships with these organizations ensuring that technology needs are met whether these are sourced from line of business (LOB) technology teams, developed internally by dedicated teams, or solutioned in the corporate domain .

 

This role is for a Business/Data Analyst who will focus on business analysis needs around the CCB Finance Technology area and specifically will work with CCB Finance users and other LOB IT partners to define business requirements and specify data requirements. The role will involve working closely with the technical developers and component testers within the team to ensure requirements have been built correctly.  The successful candidate will need to work with the project managers to ensure correct reporting of status and appraisal of effort and solutions, and be delivery focused with a keen eye toward project and artifact completion to meet deadlines.   This role would have lot of influencing responsibilities with the business users and application development team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis:
    • Gain deep technical knowledge of the system
    • Work with Finance Operations users to garner deep business process understanding
    • Document business requirements; work with Dev team to translate to Functional and System Requirements; work with QA team to develop and signoff on test cases; work with User for UAT and Implementation
    • Responsible for gathering and documenting functional requirements, producing detailed functional specification
    • Leverage the knowledge of functional requirements to assist with user interface design and wireframe documentation and review
  • Data Analysis:
    • Responsible for the full data life cycle from business and technical requirements analysis and data feed definition, to data mapping and testing
    • Navigate smoothly in a database-driven environment
  • Work with Finance users to organize, analyze and document business requirements regarding various Finance projects
  • Translate controls technical requirements into solutions in the application
  • Develop use cases and occasionally execute test cases
  • Work with build and component testing staff to ensure deliverables meet business/technical requirements
  • Contribute to development of best practices for the identification, collection, consolidation, validation, tracking and reporting of data
  • Oversee development of data definitions, helping to analyzing data sets for data anomalies and/or to verify data quality and content, and producing data quality metrics
  • Oversees the integration of data transformation in the overall architecture. Recommend and develop if necessary, new methodologies for supporting information management security and compliance requirements as it relates to data management
  • Work with business partners to help identify, analyze and resolve data errors and inconsistencies
  • Understand high-level database architectures and work with data analysts and architects to ensure database designs are consistent with information architecture and information management and industry standards
  • Build a strong relationship with the users to be their trusted partner and be proactive in identifying and recommending solutions to Finance teams
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology with an emphasis on technology business and data analysis
  • 3+ years of experience in Business/Data Analysis, including interfacing with lines of business, gathering and analyzing requirements and writing functional specifications
  • 3+ years of experience with standard business modeling techniques, such as cross-functional process flows, use cases, wireframes, and UML
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working within Oracle/Sybase database environment
  • Functional understanding of data modeling and relational database design concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all members of the organization including senior management
  • Able to multi-task with ease including a demonstrated track record of delivering multiple concurrent complex technical projects on time
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent documentation and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio, and Project)
  • 3+ years of experience in Retail/Consumer Finance domain (Cards/AutoFinance/Mortgage/Consumer Banking) preferred
  • 3+ years of specific experience in Business/Data Analysis for areas such as Accounting, General Ledger, Sub-Ledger, Balance Sheet, P&L Statements preferred
