The JPMorgan Chase Legal Department is responsible for providing legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas.  This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

The Legal Department of JPMorgan is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its cgroup.  A successful candidate is a self starter who has the ability to handle competing time demands.
The successful candidate will: 
  • Assist in the investigation and response to inquiries from regulators and other governmental agencies, including but not limited to, gathering, organizing and reviewing responsive documents for productions; and analyzing transactional data;
  • Respond to Ad-Hoc requests from line of business colleagues;
  • Provide reporting and trending information to legal management;
  • Research legal issues, and provide general administrative support as necessary;
  • Identify, escalate  and resolve issues as appropriate; and
  • Work closely with colleagues on the team and in other lines of business or control areas to ensure comprehensive and effective support.
 Qualifications
  • 4-year college degree or associates degree with a paralegal certificate;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working for a law firm, financial institution, government agency, regulator and/or self-regulatory organization;
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship management skills;
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written);
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy;
  • A proven record of successfully handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high profile and rapidly evolving regulatory environment;
  • Ability to synthesize information to reach logical conclusions;
  • High degree of initiative, self direction and ability to work independently as well as with a team;
  • Highly motivated, results oriented and client focused;
  • Strong PC skills (knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Tact and good judgment in handling confidential information; and
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels.
