Investment Advisor Team Lead-ONBOARDING TEST

Job Description

The Private Client Direct business is a part of JPMorgan's Private Client Services business.  Private Client Services is a wealth management business of JPMorgan focused on the banking, trust, and investment need of high net worth clients in the US (clients with a net worth of $1-25 million).  Within Private Client Services, the Private Client Direct team is a business unit focused on servicing the banking and investment needs of high net worth clients who are currently maintaining smaller balances with the firm.  These emerging clients represent a key area of focus to drive growth for Private Client Services.  The two primary goals of the Private Client Direct team are: 1) growing revenue and total client positions covered by the team, and 2) transferring large relationships to the principal relationship teams in Private Client Services and identifying opportunities successfully captured by those principal teams.
Primary responsibilities for the Advisor Team Lead include:
  • Coordinating operational and business matters with the Private Client Direct National Director
  • Partnering with the Private Client Direct Market Administrative Officer to ensure adherence of operating processes and procedures
  • Managing and assessing risk and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and cross-sell opportunities; transferring relationships to principal teams as appropriate.
  • Providing supervisory and sales management for a team of Investment Advisors and Assistants
  • Coaching and developing team members to build excellent client relationship and account management skills
  • Actively following-up on client contacts to deepen relationships and ensure a positive client experience
  • Executing brokerage transactions when necessary
  • Coordinating closely with investment practice management team
This position will require / requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the Safe Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment with JP Morgan Chase, you will be required to either register via the NMLS registry or re-register and move your previous registration to JP Morgan Chase's registration rolls. Your continued employment in this position with JP Morgan Chase is contingent upon successful registration after your start date and annual re-registration thereafter. In addition, information obtained during the registration process may impact your employment with the firm.
Further information about the registry and the requirements of registration can be found at:
  • NASD Series 7 required; 66 (or 63&65), 9, 10, 24 preferred or must be able to obtain shortly after hire
  • 7-10 years in the Investment management or advisory business
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree such as MBA, CFA or industry related certification is preferred
  • Proven leadership, organizational and coaching skills
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • Strong sales and sales management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad trading experience and strong knowledge of trading strategies and factors that influence market trends
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and ability to partner with principal teams
