This role reports to the Head of SEC Reporting and Compliance and is responsible for ensuring that the Firm's disclosures comply with U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and U.S. GAAP requirements and are deemed "best-in-class." Specific responsibilities may include the following:
Review financial reports filed with the SEC and non-U.S. exchanges
  • Review the Firm’s financial reports (e.g., Annual Report/Form 10-K/Proxy, Form 10-Q, Quarterly Earnings Release and Financial Supplement, Form 8-K, JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.’s annual and quarterly financial statements) for compliance with accounting and reporting standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of and review the PwC Financial Statement Disclosures Checklist (FSDCL) and the FSDCL Update checklist for completeness and accuracy regarding disclosures. Also, review applicable PwC Data Lines, FASB, SEC, and other technical sources for new requirements subsequent to the issuance date of the FSDCLs.
  • Coordinate and review XBRL tagging of the Firm’s financial statements and footnotes.
  • Prepare financial statement summary of significant items memo distributed to senior management.
  • Review FASB, ACIPA and SEC websites for applicable technical updates
  • Directly manage staff members and coordinate overall team efforts with the other SEC Reporting and Compliance managers.
  • Manage/assist with the implementation of new accounting and reporting standards
  • Review technical pronouncements for new requirements.
  • Work with the applicable New Disclosures Project Team (CFR, Corporate Accounting Policies and applicable LOB/Functional groups) to implement new disclosure requirements, including XBRL tagging.
  • Update JPMC’s Plain English Disclosures checklists.
  • Work with CFR’s Regulatory Reporting team to address GAAP/RAP reporting issues.
  • Actively participate in the new disclosure and other technical update meetings
  • Advise on accounting and reporting issues
  • Provide advice to senior management, the CFR team and the LOB’s on accounting and reporting issues.
  • Perform technical research as necessary.
  • Review peer disclosures and make recommendations to enhance JPMC’s disclosure.



  • Certified Public Accountant (i.e., CPA)
  • Strong technical accounting, SEC and reporting background, with a minimum of 10 years of financial services experience
  • Leadership – both in words and actions
  • Effective communication skills (clear and concise)
  • Flexibility – market / regulatory environment may require adjusting priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well under pressure and strong time management skills are essential since there will be numerous deadlines, some with short turnaround times
  • Strong analytical skills (pays attention to details but still able to see the big picture)
  • Excellent partnering and network building skills
  • Good judgment and a willingness to make decisions
  • Creative thinking – continually reevaluating and improving processes
  • Raises issues to the appropriate level of authority
