CIB – Custody & Fund Services – Transfer Agency Product Manager – Executive Director

Job Description

Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the local market product activities impacting clients, prospects, operations, project management, sales support and market representation.  The candidate will also play a key role in the business planning and product development of the EMEA Transfer Agency and Fund Administration Product business.   The candidate must show leadership and accountability for the delivery of the initiatives within their responsibility ensuring the full involvement of all relevant colleagues and business areas. The role is a client facing role requiring the ability to work closely with clients and business partners to create service solutions within the fund administration area of the CFS business.       
Job Duties
Client Service & Strategy
  • Maintain an active oversight of the service to clients in EMEA with a view to ensuring that all TA clients can be referenced for new business.  A full understanding of client KPI's, SLA's, service reviews and account plans is required along with active dialogue with relevant operations, client service and relationship managers.   
  • Working with the Senior Product Managers and others as necessary, initiate regular dialogue with the senior management of our key clients on business strategy.  This should both communicate the JP Morgan strategy as well as listening to the client's own plans to align strategic priorities with client growth and change plans.
  • Working with TA Finance colleagues, understand the business volumes, services provided, fees charged and the overall profitability of each client in your location.  Play an active role in improving profitability and have a high degree of commercial awareness when agreeing to new services and products.
  • Excellent understanding of the regulatory environment impacting transfer agency services and mutual fund distribution including AML/KYC, FATCA, MIFID II and UCITS V, and able to speak knowledgeably to clients, prospects as well as to other transfer agency stakeholders i.e. Risk, Audit, Product development, Operations and Technology. Contribute to the maintenance of market intelligence on competitors, service provider changes in the local market and having had experience of provision of domestic TA services in other European fund markets
Technology & Operations Liaison
  • Maintain an detailed understanding of the TA operations, TA technology and Client Services including active dialogue with the key managers.  Attend regular management meetings, communicating the Product Strategy to the teams and have a strong awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of all aspects of these areas. Help manage vendor relationships including new developments and deliveries and access any impact to ongoing operations.
Risk & Audit Oversight
  • Be fully conversant with the Risk Assessment Process, TA risk templates and the CSA items. Fully understand all Errors, Fines & Losses (EF&L) process. 
  • Risk Oversight - Attend Business Control Meeting that review the CSA items and pending EF&L’s, and with colleagues drive the process to achieve risk deadlines, reduce overall number of open items and ensure all risk acceptances are both controlled and reasonable.  Participate in the Bank Risk Committee as necessary.
  • Escalation – meet monthly with the Head of Product to review the Risk, EF&L and Internal Audit reporting.  Immediately escalate any items of concern to the Head of Product outlining concerns and proposed actions, ensure good communication across the Product team and other colleagues
Product Development
  • Help to set the strategy and drive the activity of the TA Change Management forum and ensure that the defined processes for raising, evaluating, approving, building and executing projects are effectively followed and managed. Take ownership of selected strategic developments within the TA area and help drive them to delivery.  
  • Ensure that the activities of the TACM, PPG, and approved Investment Initiatives are effectively reconciled.  Together they must represent all TA product development.
  • Show sound judgement to help prioritise projects competing for the same resources, taking into account the needs of the Bank and our clients
  • Working with colleagues, and in particular TA Finance, ensures that the financial costs and revenues associated with project delivery are correctly charged to the TA Business P&L.  – financials must clearly separate product development/projects costs from running costs.
  • Provide solutions input into all new product developments and change requests submitted to the business.
Local Market Representation
  • Represent the Bank on the local Transfer Agency committees that are part of ALFI/IFIA.  Use the forum to gather support for initiatives of benefit to the Bank and circulate any minutes or documents to Senior TA management. 
  • Ensure our active participation in the relevant TA related market initiatives run by ALFI/IFIA/EFAMA etc and that opinions are gathered in advance and that the findings are suitably communicated across the organization
  • Understand the local impact of new Regulations on our operations and ensure they are implemented correctly.  Ensure you know the bank's policy where appropriate.
  • Working with other Local Market Product Managers, ensure that the Bank's TA business has active relationships with relevant key market infrastructure entities - SWIFT, Clearstream, Euroclear, NSCC, fund platforms/order routers as well as any market driven initiatives. 
Sales Support
  • Using the agreed sales process, provide product expertise by (a) participating in Sales Presentations where that expertise is specifically required and (b) support the RFP process by reviewing completed RFP's for factual accuracy and where appropriate formulate answers to questions which are not answered in the RFP database. (c) ensure that a complete set of acceptable transfer agency documentation is agreed and a copy held by TA Product
Business Planning & Strategy
  • Fully support and actively contribute to the Planning and Reporting processes as required by the Bank. 
Core Skills and Competencies Required

Proven track record in Transfer Agency at a management level.
Track record in product development and delivery of significant strategic TA projects including planning and development.
A detailed knowledge of TA operations.
Multifonds experience is an advantage.  
High level of knowledge of the Lux & Ireland fund markets
Strong Commercial and Financial awareness
Mutual Fund experience
Excellent client, prospect and internal presentations skills
Good written and spoken English
Market orientated
Drive and enthusiasm to achieve objectives
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs
Solution orientated combined with a hands-on approach
High team focus
Good judgement
