The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.
 
 
Corporate and Investment Banking Finance & Business Management's goals are to ensure a sound control environment and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within IB F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, including legal entity, financial and regulatory, as well as product valuation; and improving ongoing processes, and ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.
 
The Liquidity Controllers organization is responsible for executing and managing CIB Liquidity reporting for the Corporate and Investment Bank.  We are looking for an Associate to assist in leading the CIB Liquidity reporting agenda.
 
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Review, analyze, and consolidate the CIB Regulatory reporting submissions which include, but are not limited to: Fed 5G, US LCR, Internal Stress, Basel III NSFR, FSA EMR
  • Participate in outlining and developing tactical and strategic operating models in regards to the Liquidity Risk Infrastructure system
  • Liaise with Corporate Treasury and CIB Line of Business leads in response to ad-hoc Liquidity inquiries
  • Provide market-driven reasons for day over day deltas within the main liquidity Regulatory reporting
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the interpretation and assessment of Liquidity requirements, and Product / business implications
  • Document current reporting operating model
  • Review and assess daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Liquidity reporting submissions
  • Ensure reconciliations and controls are in place
  • Identify and track Liquidity reporting gaps
  • Implement internal change management process for ongoing Liquidity requirement updates
  • Facilitate business reviews to identify gaps, develop best practices, and track progress
  • Support governance forums to proactively raise control concerns to senior management with researched remediation plans
  • Provide oversight for outgoing Liquidity communications
  • Represent CIB Treasury on initiatives relating to Liquidity Risk Infrastructure project
Manage other projects and control initiatives as needed within Treasury

 

 

The candidate must be a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, be confident and have excellent communications skills as the role will have global exposure, accountability and responsibility.

    • Degree in Finance, Economics or related field or minimum of 5+ years related financial services experience
    • Working knowledge of Investment Bank products
    • Background in researching Financial Market movements
    • Strong analytical, investigative problem-solving, and decision making talents
    • Established track record of delivery in a complex environment against aggressive timelines
    • Flexibility and capability of engaging across diverse functions, locations and businesses
    • Strong oral and written Communication and Presentation skills
    • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups), PowerPoint and Microsoft Access desirable
    • Control mindset (ability to identify and close control gaps and/or issues)
    • Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills
    • Must have attention to detail
    • Knowledge of key Finance systems and processes, including MIS and GL a plus
    • Familiar with External and Liquidity Reporting requirements a plus
