Job Description

The Collections and Recovery Data Management Steward position is a support role for CCB Data Governance. The incumbent will gain exposure to all aspects of data governance and will be assigned to support the owner(s) of one or more data categories. He/she will be responsible for the end to end documentation/tracking of critical data elements, establish and maintain quality controls, and facilitate and complete data certification activities.  This includes custom reporting, the design and development of new processes, root cause analysis on data integrity issues and collaboration with Line of Business data stewards in all aspects of CCB data governance. He/she will assist in standardizing quality monitoring rules and development of preventive measures to ensure quality of shared data.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Understand the business domain and the interaction of business processes with data entities/elements.
  • Support business processes with data development needs. 
  • In depth business expertise on their data within their Business Unit.
  • Work with the DMC to establish the Data Definitions for all Critical Data elements identified from Firm Wide Matter Programs, Projects,  customer data within their Line of Business
  • Govern Data policies, procedures and Standards for all LOB and CCB Customer data
  • Is the Critical Data element owner and is responsible for end to end documentation / tracking
  • Maintain Metadata – Establish and maintain quality metadata for the critical data elements they steward (e.g. business definitions, business data integrity requirements, valid values metadata)
  • Ensure Data Quality – Define a Critical Data Element’s data quality business rules and own the short term and strategic remediation efforts for any data quality issues identified as a result of the DQ rules.
  • Understand Usage – Understand how a critical data element is used across the Line of Business’s IT ecosystem and the end to end process/data flows
  • Shall be responsible for critical data element certification to the systems or record, quality metadata exists, data lineage is understood, and data quality rules are enforced.
  •          Communicate status to management and stakeholders as necessary through summary reports, review decks, project plans, agendas, minutes, issue / risk tracking, etc.

Minimum education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Past experience with collections objectives and business practices desired.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Experience working on and with geographically disperse teams
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization 
  • Proven ability to work independently.  Strong decision making and excellent organizational/ time management skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and logical thinking with a continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Creative problem solver; ability to champion change and influence people to adopt new ways of performing work
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  Able to succinctly communicate complex concepts and adjust delivery according to the audience across all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented
  • Must possess willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge on a continuous basis
