Job Description:
 
This position is primarily responsible for gathering, interpreting, and managing business and business requirements for MHA Program Reporting (HAMP, HAFA, 2MP) to the US Dept. of Treasury. The employee will contribute to an environment of continuous improvement, demonstrate a high level of motivation and intellectual curiosity and think outside existing reporting architecture to provide deeper exploration as appropriate on critical issues and business requirements in order to reduce audit risk.
 
The Program Management team partners with the Change Requestor, Data Stewards, the Line of Business, and the IT Business/Quality Analyst team to ensure business requirements are accurate and complete and oversees product delivery through implementation. This position will also partner with MIS and IT teams to help design and implement controls to satisfy business needs.
 
Tasks may range from the creation/development of Business Requirement Documents, creation of Change Requests, tracking progress of error resolution, assisting in research, performing data and system analyses to determine the root cause of exceptions and presenting to technical audiences, non-technical audiences, and senior management within the firm.  A solid understanding of system change management processes as well as strong written documentation skills are crucial to this role.
 
 
Specific responsibilities/skills:
  • Oversee the implementation of Business Requirements and act as a liaison between the requestor and IT team from intake through delivery
  • Responsible for User Acceptance Testing and post-production testing, including developing test plans, test cases and ensuring testing coverage.
  • Work closely with business partners to understand business process changes, infrastructure capacity and environment requirements for new and existing engagements
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement change to improve efficiency and shorten product delivery timelines while maintaining appropriate controls
  • Provide business intelligence and controls to the External Reporting data model to cater to the needs of the continuously changing reporting requirements
  • Read, understand, and develop SQL (including Oracle SQL, Toad and optionally SAS) statements to pull data from multiple data sources
  • Self motivated individual with strong attention to details
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication with the ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships and resolve problems
  • Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficient in prioritizing multiple tasks and organizing to achieve successful results
  • Be accountable for adherence to established procedures and controls
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines stressing urgency to achieve goals with expected quality and in accordance with required policies and procedures Strong organization and multi-tasking skills are critical
  • Qualifications
    • BS/MS degree with emphasis in MIS, Finance, Computer Science, Math, or other quantitative/business discipline
    • 5+ years experience in Project Management, Reporting and Analytics, or Information Technology, preferably within the Mortgage Servicing or other financial service industry
    • Previous experience with the Making Home Affordable program strongly preferred
    • Solid understanding of both agile and waterfall development methodologies, which must include past experience in all phases from discovery/analysis through implementation
    • 2+ years’ experience in database languages such as SQL, SAS, and/or Oracle environments desired (use of tools like Toad & SQL plus are preferred)
    • Previous experience with JIRA/JIRA Agile strongly preferred
    • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel required
    • Prior experience with user acceptance testing required
